At Ocean Basket Morning View you'll find friendly people, a home-from-home feeling and great value for your hard-earned bucks.
I find all franchises to be the same. However what makes a difference is the service you get. And here, the manager/owner walks around tables asking for feedback. That is what makes this Ocean basket different. The service is very good and fast. Oh, and the lovely Mediterranean music in the background!I had the Kingclip and instead of the usual fries, I had it with mashed butternut and creamy spinach. Yummy! My friend had California rolls that she also enjoyed. As I said attention to customers is the hallmark here. I complained that the ratio of butternut to spinach was skewed and lo and behold, I got a large side dish of creamy spinach. We were full and decided not to have any dessert. There were 2 choices of white wine: the Ocean basket wine and the Nederburg Stein that we opted for.Definitely worth trying this Ocean Basket!

Founded in 2000, Yamitsuki introduced the concept of Japanese style cuisine, presented to customers via a unique conveyor belt system. The experience was fun and exciting while the food was revolutionary. Yamitsuki became a market leader in sushi restaura
This restaurant came highly recommended by a few friends and I decided to try it out. Ordered a take away of the chicken noodles and some sushi. The sushi was average and the chicken noodles were completely burnt. Waste of time and money. Deffinately not worth the drive there or the money spent.
I buy take out from this restaurant 4 times per month. We order sushi, and all sorts of Chinese popular dishes. The shop itself does not look like much, but i dont think this guy has 1 upset customer. The soups are particularly good. Sushi is made by the owner and it can take some time so be prepared to wait, or phone in your order. The prices for sushi are cheap. This does not mean its inferior, actually we compared the sushi from nearby places, (Ocean basket, Yamitsuki) and actually my view is this is equal to the others, but literally half the price! The food is fresh and neatly presented. You wont be sorry.

I suppose this happens everywhere but on Mothers Day they couldn't cope with the numbers. Food was good but service was a let down from getting drinks to delivery of food. It took about 20 minutes before drinks arrived and food took almost 1 hour. When it arrived my steak and vegetables were cold. We had to return it to be warmed up which meant we ended up eating at different times.

Had lunch at the Ocean Basket, Mall of the South. Outside seating. Ordered a 200g Grilled kingklip with Salad and a Ice Tea (R136.00). Well prepared. Good efficient and friendly service. Nice atmosphere for a business meeting.

Spent an enjoyable Sunday morning after Church having breakfast. For R35 you can have two eggs (made to order - I had scrambled & my wife fried), two rashers of crispy bacon, french fries, fried tomato, toast with preserves and filter coffee. Real value for money. Service was fast and managers visibly in attendance. Atmosphere in restuarant peaceful.I understand that the restuarant has a good reputation for sea food and steaks are great. I will test this on my next visit
