la Pondicherry welcomes you on a journey through a wide range of exotic flavours and subtle tastes that represent the rich heritage of India. Enjoy the elegance of fine dining as we delicately prepare each dish that boasts its own distinctive flavour and
I will start off with some positives. La Pondicherry looks like a nice place, the welcoming staff are really friendly too. The menu takes some getting your head around, thereâs far too many dishes to choose from. For the ease of it I chose a familiar, tried a tested âmeatâ Rogan Josh, with Keema Naan and rice, oh and a popadoms and pickles tray to start. The starter was nice, although the pickles were sparse, and the Cobra Lager on tap was really good too. The main dishes arrive and I hurriedly went about distrusting in onto my plate. A couple of mouthfuls in and I still couldnât find what I was searching for........ flavour. This Rogan Josh was flavourless, but what it lacking in flavour, it made up for in tomatoes, they were everywhere. The rice was nice and the naan was really good, but the Rogan Josh was just lamb and tomatoes, so devoid of any distinguishing flavour was it that I couldâve ate it with pasta, or any other accompaniment and been disappointed by the dishes of the world. Dear Random1977Thank you for getting in touch. It saddens us to know how disappointed you have left with your experience and I am as appalled to read your comments and the points you have mentioned. Could you please contact me directly on [email protected] I would like to hear more about your evening and hopefully have the chance to make it right.I hope to hear from you very soon.Sincerely,La PondicherryGuest Relations Manager

Neapolitan Pizza & Streetfood
6 of us ate here last week. Service was slow even though the restaurant was only 1/3rd full. Need more staff!I had the Neptune pizza, which if you look at the menu anchovies are the 2nd listed ingredient, but there was literally 1 anchovy chopped up and hidden. I complained and was told there were anchovies on the pizza, the server even pointed to the âpiecesâ dotted around the pizza. Could be a good place thatâs not too âchainâ restaurant drivenHi Richard, After reading this i spoke to my team on shift and send my apologies, personally the best thing we could have done is create you a new one with lots of anchovies. The way we serve the pizzas sometimes the anchovies hide under our sauce or other toppings as the way we cook them means we have to have them thinly sliced. However as a customer i would expect your comments to be heard and my team should take this feedback and fix it there and then so my apologies again for this. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with myself by emailing [email protected]. I do hope you give us another try and turn this 3 star experience into a 5. I would like to thank you for taking your time to review us as every bit of feedback is so helpful to us. As an independent we want to know how our customers are feeling, what they love and what they donât. So any feedback is welcome!Kind regards,Tori- General Manager

Casual pizzeria serving authentic Neapolitan pizzas and street food alongside craft beers, cocktails and wines.
What does the best pizza in Sheffield taste like? Well, it's not necessarily about which one is the best pizza. It's about whether you can achieve a real, authentic Neapolitan in your restaurant. Napoli Centro achieves that and more. A Napoli style oven? They've got it. Cheese sourced from Campania? Got it. San Marzano tomatoes? Got'em. Authentic Italian ingredients? Got'em.The acidity of the tomatoes, the sweetness of the fior di latte, the freshness of the basil, and you've got the magic of pizza in less than 2 minutes, in the form of the Italian flag, as they served it on a plate to Queen Margherita in the 19th century, or as some say, as they were already making it in Napoli since the 18th century.Charred bottom, chewy dough and airy crust. It's all about the dough, and then it's not really all about the dough, because the rest of the ingredients are just as stellar. It's just that the dough is where all the knowledge and skill come into play, and what differentiates a second rate pizza, which is sadly almost all of the pizza that's not Italian pizza, from the Holy Grail.Getting a Neapolitan right is the best pizza can get. And they get it so right. That's the way it is. The only way it should be.
