Lone Star Tavern and Steakhouse & Catering offers lunch, dinner and catering. Locally owned by Scott Studer and Josh Hale. We specialize in scratch made fresh meals. We are a little hole in the wall, casual restaurant that we invite our customers to come
Been eating at Lone Star Tavern since the 70s,even before it burned down and was rebuilt. Since the new owners have taken over it has lost its food quality and its cozy atmosphere it used to have, been here twice and its just not what it could be.Sorry you didn't like it. I have a bunch of people that say it is cozy and good still. Sorry you're not as comfortable here anymore.Have a great day.

Several folks waiting for tables when we arrived. Hostess said tables were available in the bar area if we didn't mind sitting in that area and we told her that would be fine. Hostess took us to the table and it was still dirty -- she apologized numerous times for taking us to the table and wiped it clean herself. Waitress took our order quickly and warm rolls were delivered with our drinks. Food wait was not long. The meal was enjoyable and the bar area was fine with numerous TV screens showing a variety of sport programming. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We hope to see you again soon!

We travel a lot, and when we can't find local restaurants that sound appealing, we look for an Outback. That's what we did this evening, and we weren't disappointed. Zach, our waiter, was friendly, attentive, and more than willing to accommodate our special requests. Angel delivered our meal, and he was equally friendly and attentive. Food was great, it arrived quickly and as ordered, and the spirit of these two young men made for a really nice evening.

I actually feel bad giving this place a poor review. There were, to be fair, some very good things about my dinner experience. Is it prettyIt is a nicely decorated faux western style decor; comfortable and warm feeling. The pork chops were delicious, nicely seasoned. Nice side salad, with cheese, red onion, and tomatoes, to accompany the fresh lettuce. Tasty blue cheese dressing. Steamed broccoli well-cooked too. The not so good? The onion soup. Served like warm and the cheese was floating in the soup, not payed across the top and singed with a blow torch. The bad ... as in really bad? The service. Although the server was friendly, she took way too long to deliver my salad. The soup followed the salad, obviously forgotten by my server, as it was brought by a fellow that was not a server. The empty salad plate, dressing, and empty soup bowl sat on the table through my departure. Water refills? Nope. To go box? Yes, on my request, but dropped on the far side of the table. And, took wY too long to pick up the check with my credit card. I fault management for not properly training my server. Truly the worst service Iâve experienced in years. Why the poor rating? I would give the food is very good rating and the service is terrible ratings. That averages out to poor in my opinion

DiamondBack's is a fine dining establishment in downtown Waco specializing in hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood and a full sushi menu. We also offer happy hour every Monday to Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm and Thursdays from 4pm to 10pm.
Well, this is my 2nd visit and will unfortunately be my last. Came in at 6:30 on a Tuesday, sat at the bar. Bartender/server was nice and did a good job, but the meal was shockingly bad. I ordered the bone-in ribeye chop, along with the Oscar topping and a baked potato. The house salad was the best part of the meal... the steak was cooked as I ordered and hot when delivered, the Oscar topping obviously hadnât been prepared as it was lukewarm at best and the baked potato was hot but very hard? I can deal with everything else, but I came here for a great steak! What I got was stringy, overly fatty (even for a ribeye); simply put, a horrible cut of meat. I would have gotten better at Texas Roadhouse for a third of the price. I literally donât know what to say to the server... So, Iâll be the quiet customer that I unfortunately am and just not return. This experience cost $112.58...We appreciate your feedback and are sorry your visit wasn't as you'd hoped. If a guest's steak (or any dish) is not prepared to his or her liking, we'd greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right and would happily offer a resolved or replaced item. We do hope you'll reconsider joining us again in the future and if so, please let us know if there's anything we can do to ensure you have the best experience possible. If you'd like to continue discussing your visit or there's anything more we can do at this time, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you again!

The happy hour was worthwhile with many local folk taking advantage of the good prices. Additionally, the restaurant was willing to share a large steak between 2 with no plate charge. Talking with locals it appeared that a 16 oz ribeye was regarded as a normal red meat portion even for young ladies. The service was quick and friendly and the food fine.

Enjoyed a great meal here while spending a few days for our anniversary, in the Waco area. Good steak, terrific chicken roulade, delicious risotto & a complimentary & perfectly prepared creme brulee for dessert...all in a lovely atmosphere with wonderful responsive but not intrusive service throughout...what's not to like?
