Our specialty is steak! We buy only corn fed, Nebraska raised beef. The finest beef available anywhere. We then either dry or wet age our beef, depending on the cut, for a minimum of 28 days to ensure that famous flavor and tenderness found only at JaK's.
I just had a free dinner at Jakâs Grill in Issaquah. Why? Because I was ignored. And I mean completely⦠Ignored. At first the service was great, and then my waitress disappeared. And Iâm talking⦠Vanished Without A Trace. I was sitting at the bar and a male waiter seemed to take over the clients she had been serving, including a couple sitting next to me. The male waiter was extremely attentive to this couple, even showing them videos of his new doggie, which I watched too, catching his eye. But after that he never looked at me again, even when I tried to get his attention. I waited and waited and waited, and finally got up to use the restroom, thinking that when they saw my finished dishes and no tab, they would wake up. But wake up they did not. And I walked out. I guess I should feel like I scored a big one, but then, as a 60-something-year-old woman, I feel insignificant and unnoticed.

Good primary waiter, although some secondary servers were a little surly, I thought. Steak was tasty, if a little tough. I would go back because it's close and fairly quiet with seating for fairly large groups.

John Howie Steak - a downtown Bellevue favorite. Located in the Bravern near 405 (freeway) off of 8th Ave. A great happy hour with a near famous cheeseburger, bar and lounge open till 11pm or midnight. Fine dining in the dining room. Lunch is quite reason
I have been a loyal patron of John Howie Steak since it opened. Excellent food and Excellent service. Last week after lunch with a friend as a was signing my credit card charge and adding a tip, he said STOP! Did you notice they have added a 20% service charge that goes to the Company not the server? I read the check and it's actually 22% because as posted it is taxable. Unlike Europe, the space to ad a tip remains on the check, so the diner is faced with two unpleasant options. Pay an outrageous 42% tip/svc charge, or stiff your server. I enjoy John Howie so I will return, but not nearly as oftenThank you for your feedback. I apologize that your server did not inform you of the current service charge that went into effect October 7. In response to the changing business environment in Washington State we felt it was necessary to include a service charge on each guest check. We spent eight months constructing a compensation model that would meet or exceed what our staff was making with the traditional tip model. Some employees receive a higher hourly wage while others are given a hourly wage plus commission's on their sales. By having a service charge this allows the restaurant to make sure all employees are making a equitable wage. By law when a service charge or sur charge is added to the bill it is taxed. The additional tip line is option and if a guest chose to fill this in then 100% of that would go to your server. Delivering an exceptional guest experience is our top priority and we believe the large team of professionals who take great care of you strive to create lasting relationships with our guests. I appreciate your time and please email or call the restaurant if you would like to discuss further. Kind Regards,Tim [email protected] 425-440-0880 ext1

Went for my birthday. The table was decorated with flower petals and a note from the restaurant wishing me well. The service was impeccable - friendly but professional, and our server gave us great advice on the steaks (aged v. grass fed). The food was amazing; my steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sides, particularly the roasted sprouts, were fantastic. Yes, it is expensive, but we had great food, great service, and left overs to enjoy the next night.
