I decided to go have some breakfast at this lovely looking restaurant right by the lake, beautiful surroundings and amazing view, however it was let down by the Asian looking chef who I presume was the head chef, the way he was talking to one of his younger fellow chef he screamed swore and shouted at the poor boy, I even over heard him telling him that he was not good enough is this sort of thing acceptable in an open kitchen ? Not only was he quiet nasty and disrespectful he ruined my calm relaxing breakfast by screaming and shouting down the whole restaurant is this how people are treated in kitchen these days totally unacceptable especially when in an open kitchen and Iâm paying $15 for a breakfast that I wanted to enjoy didnât expect the chef to be screaming down the restaurant. I feel sorry for the boy that was screamed at and sworn at you could tell he was quiet upset and I even over heard him say there is no need to shout which made him shout even more â get the f*** outâ he said infront of a whole open restaurant, the boy walked out and I didnât see him after that Iâm sure he was very upset and I hope he is ok, despite that my breakfast was tasty and hot but spoilt by the head chef who I presume was. Wish the boy well xDear Anne3211Thank you for your feedback, I have spoken to both chefs about what happened and I wish to apologize as this should not have happen I have sat down and spoken to both colleagues about what happen and it has been. resolved. If you would like to touch base with me and discuss in more detail please email me on [email protected] Regards,JamesI

Based on good recommendations we a group of four that is two families vacationing in NZ dropped in for dinner on 04 Nov evening at this restaurant. After a wait for ten minutes we were seated and placed our order at about 2010. When no food was served for about 45 mins, we brought it to the notice of the hostess. She gave the excuse of rush hour and after ten minutes or so some food materialised. We realised that there were wrong food served which was not ordered for. My friend brought it to the notice and soon all food served were whisked away. When there was no further activity my friend approached the manager and asked if there is any problem in serving us the food ordered without much further delay. The manager however haughtily alleged us for being rude and when we asked if we may cancel the order and leave, he quickly agreed without trying to sort out the issue. This surely was not expected in NZ where almost every person we interacted with whether hotel staff, or drivers, or guides have been so very helpful and courteous. Surely this restaurant management must look into such rude behaviour and poor services, which create a black spot in NZ hospitality.Hi there - thanks for your review. Flame whole heartedly accepts responsibility for this issue. I personally was the manager on duty with this incident and have after more research completely accept this incident was mis read. The information I had been given was inaccurate and I wish I had the opportunity to re-visit this situation. To the family concerned, my apologies. Flame has recognised we had an issue and have rectified the matter. We pride ourselves on our customer service and great food. Clearly, on this occasion, we did not deliver. We contact you directly.Kind RegardsChris HoganGeneral Manager

On the road through the a South Island with the family (2 adults & 3 kids) we spent a couple of nights in Queenstown.Went for a quick family dinner at The Lone Star - typical American food, cooked well, and served by a great bunch of young people (Iâm guessing mostly tourists themselves) all extremely friendly and accommodating.Great place for a casual meal and a couple of drinks, and also to watch live sport etc. Thank you for your review michaeldV2123SZ!We're happy you enjoyed your stop in to Lone Star Queenstown!
