Very pleasant lunch, good food and service, too bad it was December and we couldn't enjoy the terrace and the view from there. More expensive than other restaurants in the same league, recommended to foreigners looking for a good not-for-tourist experience.But.It's almost 2013, it's been years since we were forced to think about the crisis and how to "better" spend our money.Being so lucky to keep affording to go out for lunch or dinners, I've started wondering about those restaurants that seem to go on like nothing has changed. Yes, the idea of having dinner on the Titanic comes to mind.Nothing personal against the Melograno, but it's good but not memorable enough to be that expensive, so it's unlikely I'll visit them again.

Out in the country side, a fantastic steak restaurant. The staff is super friendly and seems to know all the customers. There is no menu, just the standard appetizer, steak and great dessert. The great part is the value. You get what you pay for and don't have to worry about the broken scale syndrome found in many restaurants in Florence or Venice.A bit out of the way but nevertheless, an excellent restaurant.

We ate here on a Saturday evening during Lucca Comics and Games 2018. The place is quite small so it's better to make a reservation if you want to be sure to find a free table. As the name suggests, this place was originally born as a butcher's shop only, and evolved into a restaurant later (the name "ciberia" itself is really cool). Obviously, here you can eat mainly meat so it's not suggested if you're a vegan/vegetarian.The meat is incredible and if you order any kind of steak you can choose which one you want from a selection, too. The soup is great, too.The staff is kind, professional and helpful (it's not necessary to be a meat-expert to choose your steak, they will help you out).

This is a traditional Tuscan trattoria, friendly, full of locals. There is no menu but the food and the wine just keeps coming! The pasta was cooked to perfection and then huge plates of beef, which were fantastic, but we could not eat it all so they gave us a doggy bag.The staff were so friendly and attentive. We returned the following day in search of yeast to make our own pizzas and the owner insisted on giving us some of their yeast- so kind. This is the real deal. I will be back!

After the Camelia festival, locals referred us to this enormous restaurant, literally in the middle of nowhere. There is no way to judge the food by the building - it looks like a big catering hall. But upon entering you can see this place does HUGE VOLUME, and for a reason. The fagioli cooked in the oven are amazing, steak with rosemary and black paper, salted cod. This is a huge local spot and reservations required. True, authentic tuscan dining experience sans the kitschy decor or tourist treatment.

Food and service excellent. Reasonable prices. 3 of us had rare t-bone steak ( cooked in the wood oven) and sliced on a board with char cooked porcini served with salad. Oh my goodness. Totally memorable. Simple food cooked to perfection.Run by a father and son. Very good, efficient and friendly service. We all thoroughly enjoyed eating here.

Prezzi onestissimi. Lo consiglio senza remore!Mostra meno
