Areal is a smart bar/bistro on a quiet street. A surprising find in a small town.There is a good selection of fish, meat & pizza to choose from. As we were getting a bit overdosed on seafood we chose some simple steaks. There is a choice of cuts and the meat was perfectly cooked-pink & tender inside, slightly charred outside. The taste was divine. It was simply served with nice chips & we opted for a salad to accompany it. My husband also managed a desert of what seemed to be a sort of trifle-this was also good.Although the lovely waiter didnât speak English we managed to get all that we wanted without any problem. The place had a really good atmosphere.The icing on the cake-the bill for 2 steaks with a shared salad, crusty bread, one desert & fizzy water for us both was â¬43. An excellent dinner.

Como siempre genial,solemos ir a menudo cuando vamos de vacaciones a visitar a la familia y nunca defrauda.El servicio rápido y profesional y la comida rica y abundante,mención especial para la picaña,que probamos por primera vez y repetimos varios dÃas,riquÃsima y en su punto.La bodega espectacular,superior a la de muchos restaurantes de más nivel.Uno de nuestros fijos en Bertamirans.Un saludo y hasta la próxima.

The lady servings was abrupt and most certainly not up to the task for dealing with guests. The food was mediocre, to say the least, and we heard a microwave in the background - most likely my fish dish which 'cooked' way too quickly to have been freshly made! As far as we were concerned, it was a wasted opportunity to sample a bit more of the wonderful local cuisine - we had based ourselves on some of the previous reviews but we now really wish that we had stayed in Santiago for our evening meal.Seguramente el traductor no lo hace bien ,y por eso no entiendo nada de lo que dice ,solo comentar de lo que entiendo y decirle que debe de ser visionaria porque desde el comedor decir que el plato se le sirvio cocinado en microondas manda carallo como dicimos aqui en GaliciaEn vez de dar una opinion asi tan figurativa porque no dijo el menu que comio y valora plato a plato

We were supposed to stop for lunch elsewhere on this hot Camino day, but when this restaurant appeared in front of our eyes, we made the quick executive decision to stop here, and boy are we glad we did. We started with some generous glasses of chilled vino tinto de verano, which is basically red wine with soda or fanta, and lots of ice, and we continued with a mix plate of home made croquettes and literally the best bloody tortilla we ever had, which was fresh, gooey, tasty, warm, yellow and hmm, practically divine. With a bit of a salad. Heaven. We ended with coffee, which was actually quite good, and we received big chunks of homemade cake on the house, to end our way too good to be true lunch. Crazy cheap too! The only downside was that we eventually had to get our fat bottoms going, and we had another good 13 km ahead of us, but we'll always remember with teary eyes about our lunch in the shade at Meson Alto do Vento

We dropped into this parrillada more by accident than design - seeking a place with kids space on a rainy day. And that is what this place is all about - the family (irrespective of its odd roadside location). It has a great play room, kids menu's that are generous. But what this place really does is that it reminds you that Galicia is not just about the fish - the beef is frankly fantastic - and a joint of just dead T-bone steak cooked on fresh coals for less money than a Macdonalds happy meal (Ok - might be exaggerating here - but we fed 4 adults and three kids with a good bottle of wine for around Euro 100). I promise you, you will be hard pressed to finish it! The staff were uniformly accommodating of the English toursists. An odd choice - but a good one.Hi, thank you so much for your review.
