This restaurant really lives up to its amazing reviews! The building itself is a period building with beautiful finishes. There is a stunning staircase going upstairs with a beautiful ceiling. We started with gin cocktails. The gin menu is extensive - They even divide it by sorts of gin - citrusy, fruity, classic - etc. I think that they have near on 40 different gin based cocktails. I had a monkey 47 - it was made to perfection. We did not have a starter as we decided to have one of the cowboy 1kg steaks with some side dishes. We have the Austrian Cowboy steak which was cooked perfectly to our taste. If you choose a cowboy steak you are presented with a range of knives to choose from - itâs so impressive. Our meal was outstanding - the meat was amazing and we had great sides including mixed veg and mushrooms. They served fries with the meal but we were not keen on filling ourselves with potato. We were too full for dessert so had some port.Service was great.Food was outstanding.Drinks menu is extensive and reasonable - we also had a bottle of wine and were surprised by how reasonable it was. They have water from their own spring so once youâve purchased your first bottle it is refilled at a reasonable cost. The restaurant is about 15 mins walk from Leiden station.

The El Fiero is a restaurant situated in an old street in the heart of Leiden city. Itâs close to the train and bus station and very easy to get to. There is also a parking area near the restaurant.Itâs completely decorated with Argentine décor. There are beautiful Argentine paintings everywhere like horses, dancing people on the street etc. It has lovely atmosphere with Argentine background music. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters. I had Argentinian fillet steak served with baked potato and salad. While my friend tried USA-style T-bone steak served with French fries and salad. It all was followed by a delicious fresh fruit cocktail with ice-cream, Cointreau and cream. All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home-made food. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. The restaurant also caters for all tastes by providing a selection of the best wines. The service does accompany the high quality of the cooking. Very friendly people, always smiling and accurate. I had a pleasant dining experience with food and service. For this reason I highly recommend going to the El Fierro Argentine restaurant in Leiden.
