Went with friends who enjoy going out for dinner to chain restaurants and so met up with them at Texas Roadhouse (we and about 50 other people sat and waited to get a table on Friday night). Though we called ahead, we finally got seated about 30 minutes after our non-reserved call ahead "reservation time." The service was good and the food was not too bad - had the New York Strip (done the way I asked for it). Ambience was noisy and crowded.Since moving to La Crosse, my wife and I have not frequented too many chain restaurants since there are numerous local establishments which we have come to enjoy. If you like crowds, then Texas Roadhouse is a good place to go - food and service were decent, prices were on par with what expect.

Super friendly service and our steaks were PERFECT!! First visit for us and it did not disappoint. When the cashier heard it was our first time, she offered senior discounts, explained the process and made sure we would ask questions if needed. I have never been to an 'all you can eat' steak buffet. The salad bar had more than enough toppings, so the limited number of salad offerings was no big deal. There was still more than a half dozen other salad options, plus other entrees besides the steak...chicken, burgers, baked chicken, spaghetti, several kinds of taco meat with all the fixings and tasty desserts. Our plates were cleared quickly and the drinks were refilled before we needed them. I can see why people keep returning. Noticed that homemade pizza was available on Wednesdays, which if in town will definitely try. I do wish there was a little more space between the table and the booth seat, but no one else seemed to mind.

This is a great place for steak and not good for a diet. The server was excellent. We started with the salad bar. Lots of choices. We had four steaks and they were outstanding. We enjoyed the sides but could hardly finish them. We saw desserts on other tables that looked fabulous but couldn't imagine ordering any.

We attended for a birthday gathering, and the server did an outstanding job. Shawn made sure the birthday girl was treated to a great night. The drinks have actors names, and we all had to give one a try. The food was excellent! It came out hot, and we all got our meal at the same time. Reservations are a must.Thank you so much, 380ds.
