Fujiyama Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

We wanted something tasty, so we choose this place. My daughter had the Udon and I the spicy pork. The Udon was okay, but her salad was pretty bad (chunks of iceberg lettuce with some shreds of carrot and cabbage and smothered in an over-sweet dressing). My pork dish was actually a Korean dish (which is good and I guess the owners are Korean), but the seasoning were not of high quality (I guess cheaper red pepper was the culprit) and the taste suffered.Frankly, ne could do much better.

The food was okay. The menu didn't have that much new to add to Jackson in terms of creativity. Hubs got a burger. Not much different than Red Robin and for the price I will take Red Robin. I got their forged potato. It was good but nothing special. The steak strips on the side were way over done and I like my food overdone. The carrot cake was nothing to write home about. The service was good. I will give it that. We didn't have to wait for a table on a Friday night. Not sure that was a plus for a restaurant. Glad I went once not sure I will go back. As the AT&T commercials say is just Okay good enough. If so then knock yourself out. If not then you should probably find another restaurant.

I am a regular at my hometown Outback with more than 300 meals eaten there! I trust Outback to have consistently good food and service at all of their restaurants and I am rarely disappointed. This restaurant upheld the tradition! My co-worker and I walked in and sat immediately at a booth in the bar area (first come, first serve in the bar area) and within 2-3 minutes someone arrived to take our drink orders (the place was very crowded). Within about 5 minutes our drinks were in front of us and we ordered our appetizers and entrees. Ahi Tuna is always great to get things rolling and the French Onion Soup is also really good. I ordered a regular Ribeye, prepared medium rare, with mashed potatoes and a house salad with Balsamic Vinagrette. It came out exactly as ordered. My associate ordered salmon and he was equally pleased. I thought the mixed drinks were a bit weak, but in fairness to them, my local barkeep, makes them just way I like them. Being a regular has certain privaledges. I recommend this restaurant without reservation.

I have been visiting this establishment for years...way before it was in the current location. Before tonight I was treated with respect. The service was sometimes better than others. The food was always pretty good or better. This was my last visit...The woman who I have always assumed was the owner was present for my entire visit and even chimed in loudly a negative response when our sever asked if she should comp something. The entire visit we never asked for anything except good service and good food. We were never, not once, confrontational or unpleasant. We sat in the bar. Our order of hot saki was delayed 30 minutes because the machine malfunctioned right in front of us...things happen. We didn’t complain or fret.We ordered shrimp and medium steak hibachi. The steak was cooked on the outside and bloody inside. The vegetables were very small diced. They look d like leftovers. There were no sauces or knives. Eventually after I got up and walked to the hostess we got a butter knife. I know...a butter knife to cut steak....I asked for the meat to be cooked properly and for vegetables that were cut (Julien) and cooked like we would get at a hibachi table. The plate came back LOOKING great...but...the steak and shrimp had been salted so heavy that I could still taste it in my mouth when I got home an hour later. I only ate ONE shrimp. The vegetables were raw. My dinner companion was braver in an effort to not cause a scene and tried both which made her sick to her stomach. Long story still long we paid $70 for food that was ineatible. There was no reason to drag the poor server through the muke as the owner woman was right there the entire time. My family is multi-generational food service. I have a history of food expertise. I have a son that specializes in Japanese cuisine and is nationally recognized. I do not give one star ratings without forethought and I understand sometimes you have an off day. My guess is the kitchen took the steak and shrimp, threw it back on the grill, tossed on a BUNCH of salt and reserved it. The vegetables were cut fresh, warmed a bit and served. Total garbage and completely unprofessional from management to kitchen. I will not be back and I will recount this accurate description of the night to my friends.

Laid back, no frills, rustic location. Kind, attentive, personable staff. The service was excellent. New York Strips were cooked as ordered (med-rare) and a nice cut for this type of restaurant. Steak needed a little more seasoning, but that's a personal preference sort of thing. Fried okra was great. The kiddos had sirloin and chicken nuggets. They were both happy. Overall, dinner was a little better than average and the service was very good. We stopped here on our way through to Nashville. We'd eat here again.

Met my father at the restaurant for supper. Our waitress was at the table to take our drink order by the time we were seated. Meal order was taken just as quickly. The salads were fresh. Our steaks arrived just as we finished our salads and were prepared just as we had ordered them. They were delicious. Also it was very pleasant to run into friends there and be able to touch base with them.

Just a little birthday lunch with our niece. With one rare exception, this place is always a pleasure. DH loves the strawberry salad and Flo's filet. I had the seafood chowder, which was pretty good. I also had a Flo's filet, which was cooked beautifully mid-rare. I ordered the new baked cauliflower, which was over-baked and dry. The asparagus were perfect. Our Server Amber, could not have been better. We love the Gold Rush Apple dessert, and our niece was gifted a lovely birthday sundae. This has sort of become "our place" because it is easy and good. There are lots of things to try. I will say that the Hostess seems somewhat unfriendly and never returns a smile. Don't let that make you sad. The Servers are personable and welcoming, and you will have a nice time.
