Henry spent 20 years as a chef in high end western horels across China. David, his head waiter, spent 10 years. These guys know what they are doing and they have poured their heart and soul into this business. Watching their open kitchen on a Friday night at peak time, you can tell that they have trained their staff well.On to the food. Steaks are served raw on a hot stone at your table. He then serves you with 6 types of kosher salt for you to season your steak with while it cooks right in front of you. (Black, smoked, rosemary, garlic.... I can't remember the last two...) Steaks comes with a complimentary glass of house wine. The base level is 120 day aged Australian beef. He then has 180 day aged beef as well as Wagu steaks. If steak isn't your thing, his soups are incredible. He also has salmon, salads and pastas. I have yet to try much other than the steak or the soups. One of the amazing things is that all the soups, salad dressings, sauces (steak sauces and such) are all made from scratch and have all been excellent.To finish things off, Chef Henry runs a great coffee shop in the lower level. He has sorbet and cakes, but usually I am so full from dinner to order any of this. Local food. Waitress did not speak english. good quality food. no forks/knives available for western people. I tried caw knee and it was not as bad as it sounds.
