Find out what Steakhouse restaurants to try in Hiroshima. A trip to Hiroshima is best kicked off with a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, which contains a museum, the remnants of buildings destroyed by the 1945 atomic bomb and monuments to the people killed by this nuclear attack. Understanding Hiroshima’s relatively recent devastation is key to fully appreciating its beauty and culture. Visit splendidly rebuilt historic sites like Hiroshima Castle and Shukkei-en Garden, and don’t miss the Itsukushima Shrine on the nearby island of Miyajima.

We wanted to splurge on a beautiful steak meal and decided on Momonoki which came up as the best steak restaurant in Hiroshima. We caught a taxi and were glad we did as its location is pretty tricky but only 12 minutes from the Hiroshima train station. It is a little hard to find even when the taxi driver tells you âitâs hereâ but we located it from the name of the restaurant on a door mat at the front door. As we entered into this tiny space we were a little unsure whether we had made the right call. Seating only 21 with the prime seats at the counter in front of the grill we were the only ones there apart from a Japanese couple. Anyway we chose an 8 course meal for the ladies and a 9 course meal for the men and the meal was sublime! Each course was beautifully presented with excellent flavors. Only two staff and the cooking was done by a lady who really was quite expert with cooking on the stainless steel top. Beautiful prawns and abalone and then two local oysters from Miashima cooked on the plate in light breadcrumbs. Sensational! Then our steak! Absolute melt in your mouth steak cooked rare and to perfection! Three of us ordered tenderloin and the other sirloin which is a little more fatty and buttery. The steak was the best we have ever eaten and lived up to the reputation of Wagu beef. The desert consisted of a tiny Creme Brûlée with a strawberry, slice of Kiwi fruit and a delicious orange jelly cube served on the side. Wonderful complimentary tastes that topped off a sensational meal. Oh! And we ordered sake which they recommended which was served very cold and was the nicest sake we have tasted in Japan. The staff were wonderfully friendly and spoke enough English for us to understand each other. They were kind enough to order a taxi and ensured we were safer on our way back to our hotel. The meal was expensive but we thought it was worth every cent. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Hiroshima but be prepared to pay. Itâs worth it guys.

Wow.... what can I say. My first, and it certainly wasnât my last, experience of Ikinari Steak restaurants. What a concept. So so simple..., so so effective. Choose your steak, we both picked the 450g Wild Steak. Choose a side such as salad, rice and the like. You see the meat being weighed, then seared on the barbecue style grille before being served to you sizzling on a very hot cast iron âplateâ. You allow the steak to cook to your preference and get stuck in. Thereâs a variety of sauces to accompany your steak on hand. We waited in line for 30min just to get in. This one in Hiroshima was amazing on on a par with the one we visited in Tokyo. Absolutely superb. Delicious, tasty...... you got to try this place. Think it came in under £20 a head with drinks and worth every penny.

We had some fabulous steak which was cooked perfectly. We sat at the back away from the cooking area where it was a nicely relaxed atmosphere. They have a reasonable choice of wine and the whole meal was good value. The staff are charming too. An all-round good evening!
