We found this restaurant following comments on this media and must say it exceeded our expectations. Xixario is a small restaurant close the riverbank with a traditional decor and a clear emphasis on fish. The fish is grilled outside and served with a simple but most delicous seasoning including olive oil, lemon/vinegar and garlic. They serve no potatoes, just bread, but that is quite enough: the sauce is so good we wanted to clean every bit of it with the bead provided.We ordered monkwish and sea bream, two medium-sized ones for our family. Both were cooked perfecly, soft and juicy, just as one could wish. This is aruably the best fish meal we have ever had outside our own Baltic waters! If you are anywhere near Orio, I recommed you give Xixario a try. Service is friendly, good English spoken and the recommeded wine, local Txakoli was a perfect match for the fish.If everything was so perfect, why just 4 points? Because of yhe price. With a couple of salads and wines&drinks, our meal for 2 adults, 2 kids cost us almost 200e. For the quality we had that was not totally unreasonable, but more we were expecting (the price of fish listed per kilo is always a bit challenging to estinate) and more one may consider fair as Donostia with its amazing delicacies is just 20 minutes away. The same budget there would qive you access to Michelin stars and pintxo places with equally high standard. Hence my 4 points. But still: if chance had not thrown us in Xixario, I would consider myself missing one top-of-the-line fish dining experience!

Some friends from all over Europe came to the Basque Country wanted to taste something typical apart of the pintxos. Arizia has a new building that offers some excellent views over Zarautz. We tasted the typical 'sagardotegi menu' o menú sidrerÃa' with is made of cod omelette, cod with peppers and steak, with cheese, quince jelly and nuts for dessert. You can pour your own cider and as much as you want from 5 barrels they have. Great lunch for ~35â¬.I would recommend going by car to Arizia. Arguniano and Gure Txokoa are the best restaurants in zarautz... I have been coming here for 12 years. This year the food is even better at Gure Txokoa... I have tried on purpose the Cigalas Rebozadas in Gure Txokoa, Arguiano, Kiape and Astillero in Geteria.. GURE TXOKAO WINS.. If you are visiting Zarautz and want an incredible meal at a fair price with great service from Elena and Liz...go to Gure Txokoa.....

A bit hard to find, but very highly recommended. Convenient when driving from San Sebastian to the airport of Bilbao. Great to see the fields where they grow their own vegetables. The grilled meat from the wood fire was simply perfect. But the rape fish was also a great experience, just fresh from the fire with an simple but elegant dressing. The excellent quality of this restaurant is reflected by the fact that on a regular Monday afternoon the restaurant was packed with guests, so a good idea to reserve.

We ate several times (lunch, dinner) in the restaurant, food was excellent, everything was fresh, fish, meat and very nice kooked. All the staff was very friendly and paying attention to all details. Also if you ask them they could give some hints for what to visit and nicest roads or places around. We stumbled on this place on our way to climbing the hill on Isla de San Anton in Getaria. What a find! Although the staff didnât speak much English they took great pains to make sure we understood the menu. We chose their special salad with anchovies to share followed by clams for me and hake for my husband. All of these dishes were substantial and beautifully cooked accompanied by bread, the house wine and water. I couldnât resist ordering a dessert and happened to pick a dark chocolate pudding with ice cream. This was baked to perfection with the centre full of oozing melted chocolate. We left there feeling very satisfied and ready to walk up the hill behind the restaurant to help our digestion! Would definitely recommend this place just off the beaten track and very reasonably priced. A good sign was the number of locals eating there.

Un buen sitio familiar para comer si vas a visitar Getaria. Está situado algo alejado del pueblo, en una casa de campo.Cuando llegamos habÃa bastante gente tomando un aperitivo. A eso de las dos pasamos a comer, en general la comida bien presentada y con buenas cantidades, a un precio bastante razonable.La carne sabrosa y bien preparada.Ojo, creo que solo abren sábado y domingo.

I can honestly say the chuleta was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Cooked perfectly as the pix shows. The scrambled eggs with mushrooms were also to die for, and everything else actually. Very well executed and honest prices.

With the beach om one side and the fishing harbor om the other side, Balearri offers good view, good service and fantastic seafood. Recommend the grilled hake!
