Inspired by Wellington's Fine Dining of Calgary, the CattleBaron Steakhouse and Bar was created and designed as a casual alternative for the upscale steak enthusiast. Soon recognized as Calgary's premiere casual steakhouse, the CattleBaron offers our gues
The Cattle Baron is a classy restaurant that also has a lounge area where the same menu can be enjoyed (and was less crowded). It is popular, so reservations are suggested. There was a special the night we visited--filet mignon and lobster tail, accompanied by twice baked potatoes, broccoli and carrots--and it was all delicious. There was a garlic butter for dipping the lobster which was prepared perfectly. The clam chowder was nothing special and I wouldn't order it again, but the rest of the dinner was great including Irish creme brulee and tiramisu cheesecake for dessert.

MINAS Brazilian Steakhouse is named after the southern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, where executive chef and owner Jose Montes hails from. This state is known all over the country as the heart of the most authentic Brazilian cuisine, such as feijoada,
I don't know if more flavour or texture can be brought up from the meats they prepare and serve. Cooking for decades I still consider Minas Steakhouse the best option if family wants roasted on fire meat. Waitress/Chefs are pro and meat lovers themselves. Every member of staff is calm and happy. True quality experience. Most of the time we have Rodizio menu (bring the meats on, baby) and great hot and cold tables sides (mostly gluten free, but ask). Rodizio at dinner is a little pricey.

Ruth's Chris Steak House specializes in serving aged Prime steaks, broiled in a trademark 1800-degree oven and served on a plate heated to 500 degrees to ensure the steak stays "sizzling" hot. To experience fine dining at its best Just follow the sizzle t
The service was good, the steak was very good and cooked as requested the meal size was large for us so it could be easy to over order

Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse. 1) We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we donât serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into p
This was our first time and we had no expectations. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance here. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. The service however, was a bit disappointing. From poorly communitcating the Wednesday Date special, to interjecting into our conversation, she simply had an edge to her that we didnât appreciate. The worst part of it all was at the end when paying the bill, she had to remind me to tip for the full amount and not the discounted amount from our gift card. What a self serving move. Just like that, a decent night ruined by one moment and a neighbourhood customer that wonât be back.

Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue is located conveniently on busy Macleod Trail. Gaucho means ~ cowboy ~ and refers to our chef and owner Edmilson Rodrigues. Ede comes from the land of the Gaucho in the south of Brazil and has spent a lifetime introducing his foo
My wife and I met out-of-town friends here for lunch and our selection did not disappoint. The food is delicious, and the "asides" wonderfully diverse and delightful. My wife wanted to sample all the meats, but with my declining appetite elected to have only one main meat couse: the top sirloin (at only $9 more, the multi-meat offering for those with robust appetites is certainly the more economic). All the meat is thinly carved, fresh from the bone. I found, hoever, that the beef stew, a side platter, was more tender and tasty. In fact, I would have preferred only the food from the side bar that offered several hot meals, vegetables and salads, some quite exotic, tasty rolls, and even some manioc. Warning: the spicy butter is very spicy! My wife found all the meat cut by a Gaucho(!) at the table tender and tasty.

Caesar's is undeniably old school. Rich surroundings of burgundy leather and dark wood finishes evoke a sense of nostalgia. The space isn't the only thing that defines Caesar's, but rather a complete package. Caesar's has been captivating diners with the
We have been going to Caesarâs for over 30 years. The food is incredible and your meal will be served by professional servers. You wonât get service like this at most other steak houses. Many of the waiters have worked there for 20 to 30 years. Dinner comes with soup, salad and cheese bread. When u bundle this up with your entree and a stuffed baked potato itâs a tremendous value. The deserts are also very tasty. When we want to celebrate an event we go to Caesarâs.

This has been a "special occasion" steak spot for our family for some years and it always delivers. We came for Father's Day and ordered beef (T-bone), boar, and elk dishes and while each was delicious, we voted the boar as our favourite that evening. They have a wonderful wine selection so Open Range is a very complete dining experience.

Everything about our experience at Minas was outstanding: service was excellent, salad bar was fresh and well stocked, and the meat was delicious and timely. There was also exceptional live music that added to the experience (and we could still hear each other!!). Thanks everyone at Minas for helping us celebrate our 25th anniversary. :)
