Find out what Steakhouse restaurants to try in Bulawayo. Bulawayo is the second-largest city in Zimbabwe after the capital Harare, with, as of the ever disputed 2012 census, a population of 653,337 while Bulawayo Municipal records indicate a population of 1,200,750. This understating of population by the government is due to the marginalisation of the Matabeleland region by the government since 1980 in a bid to avail less resources. With a population of 620,000 in 1992 Bulawayo cannot have a population of 653 337 20 years later when it is exhausting its land due to housing expansion. It is in Matabeleland, 439 km (273 mi) southwest of Harare, and is now treated as a separate provincial area from Matabeleland. The capital of Matabeleland North is now Lupane, as Bulawayo is a metropolitan province.
Things to do in Bulawayo
Stopped in at Zarah Lounge for one drink on my walk back to my accommodation. Three hours later I left happier after having some good local beverages and close to the best fries we experienced in Bulawayo. The waitress made a mean long island iced tea and we enjoyed our time. It was starting to get busier as I left, about 5pm with the after work crowd, so I imagine it's a good place to be for after work drinks. Really well priced for foreigners!!
Carne Casa is the only Brazilian themed steakhouse in Bulawayo, providing the top quality Brazilian style grilled meats. We are proud of our members of staff who thrive to provide a world class service
We arrived here not knowing what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised. The welcome we got was very warm and we were treated as welcomed guests throughout the evening. The service was quick and always with a smile. Fantastic steaks prepared as ordered and very well presented. Quality was excellent. One of us had the special, pork chops with salad and chips...as above!! We finished off with ice cream and chocolate sauce. The only downside was the guitarist who sat down at our table and went through two songs and then offered to sell us his CDs.We are delighted we managed to deliver an excellent service and pleasant food .We look foward to hosting you again soon .We greatly apologise for the downside,we will make sure it does not happen again in future.

Friendly service, great food and ambience.
The restaurant is set in a lovely location and the all round ambiance is quite good. We went to the place on a Monday night and it was empty except for one other table. The food we ordered was OK; nothing amazing. The greens which came with my wife's seafood platter were overcooked and the potato wedges were bland. The ribs which i ordered were quite good with plenty of sauce.Unfortunately our dining experience was ruined by the sheer number of cats (3) that kept coming to our table and meowing loudly for our food. The management should really do something about those cats as not everyone likes to eats with animals expecting some scraps to be thrown to them. All in all, it was a pretty good night out but the lady waiters need to up their game and be a bit more professional.Dear Marvin M,Thank you for your review. Management is taking the comments under advisement, and have rectified the issues mentioned. We assure you, that your next experience will show the improvements made.Thank you for your patronage.Kind Regards,Management

We had an unpleasant experience with the owner shouting at staff from the kitchen and then demeaning them in the dining area. I wouldn't recommend it.

Visited Roosters last night for a family dinner and was very disappointed. Visiting from the UK we really want to experience the best African steak but what we got was a real let down. The steaks were cold and were served without the herb butter wedges and onion rings. If they were left off one plate that would be understandable, but they were left off all 4 steaks! One of the steaks was ordered medium but was served cold, dry (no basting) and well done. The wait for the drinks and food service was also very long. Not ideal when dining out with children. It was a busy night so maybe that was the cause of the slow service and bad food, but on the whole very disappointed with my first experience at Roosters.

Great family environment with the friendliest staff and hunger busting food! Our wood-fired pizza will rock your world!
The food is phenomenal, and the service is exceptional. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. Definitely the best restaurant in Bulawayo, and one of the best in Zimbabwe. I highly recommend the pizzas.
