If you are on a low sodium diet, do not eat here. However, if you like your food well seasoned and plentiful, you have found nirvana. We ate the daily menu, and we were unable to eat all the potage (enough to feed six!), and then ate the main course and pudding. All of this accompanied by a basketful of bread and a bottle of very acceptable wine. The place was full at lunchtime with families of three, and in one case four, generations. Noisy, busy. Tables groaned with huge platefuls of meat. The portions are huge. As is often the case, as British tourists, we were treated as outsiders; Spanish diners were given the daily menu in writing, we were given the menu verbally, and at great speed! However, in the end, we were well satisfied.

The menu, the prices and the atmosphere lead us to have higher expectations. All in all, the meal was nice, but the quality per price was not great. We order zamburiñas, pixin (monkfish) and squid in onion sauce. The zamburiñas had great flavor but arrived a bit cold, even if there were just 2 tables that night. The waitress was kind enough to suggest just half a serving of pixin, because the servings were huge; it was just OK when you expect fish to be great. The squids were very good, and indeed the serving was huge. We didn't even order any main courses because starters were so big.

My wife and I had dinner here on June 19. I chose the Daily Menu at 9.50 and she the octopus. For the first dish I had paella, which was excellent, and enough for two people. The main dish was steak with fried potatoes, which was also very good. To finish it all was a nice slice of cheese cake with whipped cream. All this, including a non-alcoholic beer, for only 9.50. A very good price for such portions and good quality.

Comida de 6 amigos, con unos entremeses abundantes y sabrosos a base de jamón, chorizo, queso de Tineo, y unas pequeñas salchichas muy ricas. Después pote asturiano, suave pero a la vez sabroso, y rematando con unas costillas, chorizo parrillero y entrecot, acabando con unos postres caseros. Un sitio donde el trato es correcto y amable, sin duda volveremos a probar el pote de callos, que la cocinera nos dijo que harÃa de cara al invierno.

Travelling in the area on business, this lovely rustic retreat is a reminder that unlike the British, the Spanish understand and respect the right to take take out for lunch and a break from the day.The other stark reminder is that unlike many British workers the Spanish can afford to stop for lunch !Most importantly they respect the fact that good simple food, served with pride and passion is easy to provide and will continue to survive as it is affordable.If I ever visit this area again I will certainly call in for something to eat and I would recommend this place to everyone.

This is simply an amazing place. Everything is good (meat, fish, seafood, desserts, ...) and the wine selection is quite ample while keeping a low price. Casa Pepe (or O Piano, as it's also known) is my favourite place in Ribadeo. Personally, I'd recommend the following:Starters- Pulpo encebollado- Zamburiñas- Salpicón de mariscoMain courses- Langostinos- Entrecot de buey- Solomillo de ternera- Any fish "du jour" or seafoodDesserts- Mouse de turrón- Leche frita
