This used to be my favourite place for budget meals, good entertainment and as a "Exclusive Member", discounted drinks. That all changed on my last visit. The bar staff would not accept my membership card and because they were too busy taking meal orders there was a 20 minute wait for drinks. The menu has been reduced to very little meal choices and even then our choice of Coral Trout was not available. Ordered a meal, had to sit at a table with no view of the entertainment and waited 2 hours. No meal. Staff refunded my money with no apology.

Went for the sirloin steak. Service was quick and staff were friendly. The steak was small and undercooked (ordered medium). Chips and salad portion was small also. On the plus side, the pepper sauce was pretty good. Over priced for the quality and quantity I got.

Northerlies Beach Bar and Grill sits right on the water's edge just outside the beautiful Whitsundays' town of Airlie Beach, Queensland. The relaxed venue offers an inspired fresh menu of grilled produce and seafood. Select from one of the widest range of
Having read so many wonderful reviews we decided to spend $25 in a taxi to go there this evening for a nice evening dinner.Wish we hadnât.I donât get how anyone could give this place 5 stars? Maybe you need to go in the daytime? On arrival the place has the feel of a canteen. A big open room with wood roof, floor, tables and chairs. And a pool table! And kids running around everywhere. Chaotic. At 8pm it was starting to thin out a bit We got a nice table looking out over the beach. We ordered a mojito which was quite possibly the worst Iâve ever had - at $18 too!!Then the meals - one entree and two steaks. We were told it could take 45mins. Fortunately though the mains turned up after 20 mins. The entree 5mins later ?!?!Salmon sashimi was pretty good. The steaks and sauces average - cooked way more than the medium rare we asked for, but got on with eating them for fear of having to wait another 20 mins for a replacement. $120 all in was over priced for the quality, the service and the ambiance. The free shuttle bus back to town with a very helpful driver means that this review gets two stars rather than one and fingers crossed we can find somewhere better in Airlie in the coming days.We at Northerlies always analyse both positive, and no so positive feedback in relation to our business, in this case we will take this with a grain of salt. The building, or canteen as you refer too actually won the Australian Master Builders Award 2018, a massive accolade to a construction project that we are extremely proud. We do not promote ourselves as a fine dining establishment, I am sure the the beach bar in Northerlies may relate to most what we strive to achieve, that is a cool, casual, family friendly, no pretence venue where people feel relaxed, chill and almost homely. We do ambitiously try to succeed in excelling all visitors expectations, but we realise that for some this will never be met. We do thank you for your visit and wish you happy travels.

sick of eating pub style food, we found this little cafe a pleasant change. The waitress was run off her feet, so service was quite slow, but she was extremely pleasant and did her best to keep things running smoothly. The food was really good! The duck curry was lovely, tasty and just what we wanted. Thanks to the chef and the waitress for a good dining experience.Thank you Kym for the kind review! It is great appreciated to hear such kind words, especially when we are busy and rushed of our feet! The duck curry is a new dish that is absolutely delicious and I am thrilled that you liked it!
