This underdeveloped area was hit hard by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and is undergoing a number of major development projects including the construction of a new sea port and international airport finished in 2013. These projects and others such as Hambantota Cricket Stadium are said to form part of the government's plan to transform Hambantota into the second major urban hub of Sri Lanka, away from Colombo.

Visited this place for late lunch and didn't disappointed me. If you are with a lady I recommend you to seat inside of the restaurant located in 1st floor. They have several seating areas but get crowded with locals coming just to get drunk. Food served in large portions but taste is good. They served alcohol in their as well. Recommend for families as well..

About 80 of us gathered for a company BBQ held at Jade Green. The food and drinks were average-good and the service very friendly. The French fries were slightly peppered with a red pepper outer coating, making them mildly spicy and loaded with flavour. The meat cuts and fish offerings were of an average quality.

Excellent restaurant for a romantic dinner or sitting with friends. Great food and especially seafood at a reasonable price. The staff is very nice and especially chef Baba is very helpful. The place is seated in a beautiful garden close to the beach. I warmly recommend! Best restaurant in Tangale.

Western food is kind of average, but great Sri Lanka food. And plenty of it. Service is fantastic, especially the friendly hostess, Ruwanthi.I will definitely be back.
