Monday's in late September is a hard evening as most restaurants are/were closed. We asked the owner of our hotel for advice, and he booked us a table at Pil-Pil Enea. We were supremely happy with the choice! The restaurant, in typical French style, looks rather shabby from the outside, but in a good way. (Our experience in France has been that the more expensive a restaurant looks, the worse is the food.)Had a local cocktail as an aperitif recommended from the waiter - cherry liquor with cider, apparently typical Basque. Starter was a shared shrimp dish, which was certainly enough for two. Main course was the hake for two - wonderful! One of the best fish meals I've had. Wine was a local wine, a tad expensive but worth it.All-in-all, fantastic and highly recommended!

A culinary experience would not be complete without the perfect ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant, and this is what Bakar Restaurante was offering me throughout my journey into Irun, Spain for the New Yearâs Eve of 2019. The restaurant is beautifully designed, it gives a homey feeling and the space just before the dining place allows visitors to dance and enjoy the dinner time with their lovely ones and families; and this is exactly what I did after the service for New Yearâs Eve dinner was finished. People were dancing and enjoying their time and the staffs of the restaurant were also joining us in the dance floor, William, the lovely head chef was dancing together with the others as we are singing and enjoying the traditional Spanish celebration way of eating grapes. The bartender, together with the head chef was also playing some groovy music to get the people to dance and mingle, ah.. did I say that William is a down-to-earth person who is lovely and is caring about the opinions of everyone about their experience starting from the point when they stepped into the restaurant until the end of the night? (morning, actually, we finished at around 5 in the morning). All in all, it was a very exhilarating experience from the start until the end; the savory and beautifully served food, the perfect ambiance and the lovely staffs. Would definitely come back again if I have the chance to travel back to the Basque country!

If you are looking for a great selection of local fresh fish and meat dishes, Luz Del Sur is a great choiceRecommend their artichokes as an appetiser. Wow delicious!For mains - we had Louverie fish and fresh chiprones (calamari). The kids had Bigore noir (local pig), duck confit and stew. The chiprones were perfect. Fresh, tender, flavourful. I tried my sonâs Bigore Noir and hope to return to order that dish. It was amazing.

Ne pas sâarrêter à lâaccès extérieur, non, ce nâest pas une cantine dans un bâtiment industriel. Lâintérieur est très sympa et la vue panoramique est magnifique. Lâaccueil est chaleureux et sincère. Le service est au top. La qualité de lâassiette est excellente avec un très bon rapport qualité prix. NE PAS HÃSITER.

Very smart inside and out. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Large choice of drinks that were quickly served even when busy. Great choice of tapas style dishes. We particularly enjoyed the brochette de boeuf with bearnaise sauce and gambas dishes. Sardines was tasty but unusually served in the tin, very novel. Highly recommended and will be our first choice if we return.

Having been here many times for lunch and really enjoyed it, we tried coming in the evening recently and tried the pintxos menu (unavailable at lunchtime) which contains a number of delights including the excellent wake me salad and the equally good squid with black ink orzo. The staff were as charming and attentive as ever.

This restaurant had good ambiance, very friendly staff (funny and a little flirty) and great food! Calamari was so good and I'm not a big fan of seafood. My cod meal was quite tasty. The profiteroles were HUGE. Perhaps I'm not used to that dessert being that size but WOW. Dessert lovers will not be disappointed. Great place for dinner in this lovely city.

A very French family oriented restaurant, serving fantastic and good value seafood. Our group had the sole and the cod for two and both dishes were excellent. Itâs not haute cuisine, and the mains come without fancy accompaniment, but the quality of the ingredients and the cooking were right on the mark. Some excellent and good value wines too.

This restaurant is in the newer part of Socoa between the motorway and the old port and offers modern decor. It is near Lidl. Tapas are a speciality as are Basque dishes. We chose a set price menu and started with tapas - one each of a wide variety of delicacies. For my main course I had chipirons - baby squid in a sauce - delicious. My wife had a fairly standard steak. Desserts were again a selection - this time only 3 differennt small ones. Several tables had been reserved, always a good sign. By the time we left there was not a spare table inside. Admittedly it was a Saturday night but it was end September.Service was efficient.
