Very good and homemade kitchen. Nice atmosphere and accessible prices. Good quantity, nobody will go home hungry.

Recommended by people from around. They have a good menu list with real homemade dishes, however the daily menus of either â¬10 or â¬18 are just great. Service is good and quick.

Waiters were completely lost, they had no idea of what to do or any control over the costumer situation. After waiting for a menu for 10min, I finally got up and took it by myself! We had a lunch menu and we regretted to have ordered it, but then again maybe a'la carte would have been the same disappointment. Not worth it!

smiles to greet us --mum in the kitchen --father is head waiter --son is barman --daughter is on the washing up --and the cuisine is 1960's terrines of country soup (4 bowels for 1 person) hunks of country bread fabulous veal escalops and sirloin steaks to die for - just eat them with salad -- dont go for the chips or veggies --they werent their forte -- but if you have enough of the delicious soups(3 types) its all you'll need. We went 3 nights and paid 70euros for 4 people including wine and digestives and all the food. Great fun and lovely people

The Hotel itself has been built in an amazing area. Rooms very backdated, lack of maintenance.Needs to redecorate the rooms and invest some money in the interiors. When I booked the hotel, I send them a request and never got a reply. In the other hand, the area is beautifull and worth to see.

Sidreria Solleiro is possibly one of the most authentic and rustic places to eat you can find in 2013 in Western Europe. Placed in the beautiful hamlet of Taramundi, in the mountainous part of Asturias on the border with Galicia, this place stands out for its traditional stone tables. Also, you can appreciate the supercosy and dimly-lit interiors and its superb "beer garden" (though I should call it "cider garden") next to a traditional horreo, the typical and mega old Asturian granary. The food is all homemade and it's a window to the unique Asturian gastronomy. From fabada (which was my choice of main for the evening) to eggs and potatoes (my partner's), and from sidra-cooked dishes to the many local cheeses, the place is a joy to behold. Also, important detail, all dishes are totally affordable. Large portions ("raciones") are never in excess of 7 Euros, which in this day and age is no mean feat. Two special mentions. One, you can pick your own selection of Asturian cheeses when you order your "tabla de quesos". Each type of cheese is served on top of an apple slice, as this is the way the locals eat cheese. We sampled the stunning Gamoneu, which is slightly smoked, the local Taramundi cheese (also amazing) and, finally, the trademark Asturian cheese, Cabrales, which is so mouldy that it tastes spicy - and very morish! The second special mention goes to the desserts. We ordered "Flan de manzana", a sort of creme caramel made with apples. It was out of this world. As for drinks, the local sidra (made by the same people who own the place) and some local Albariño wine are there practically on tap. Simply, amazing.Definitely to be recommended.

A traditional restaurant in a fairytale village. Good food in "One of the most beautiful village of the nort of Spain"
This rural eatery is really nice. Its location and surroundings are impressive. Nestled between lush green mountains, this small hamlet seems to be away from everything. Apart from the small river -curiously named Turia- flowing a few meters away, there´s no noise at all. It´s one of these places in which when you think about all the problems you´ve left behind at home, they seem totally unreal. Idyllic place for a break out. I had just a light snack there, so I can´t really judge the food, based on traditional dishes, as much as the place, run by a friendly gentleman with whom you can have a nice small chat. Good prices and cleanness. You can enhance the experience of this place by doing hiking from the small village of Taramundi, along the left bank of the creek, instead of driving. Starting from Mazonovo it takes less than an hour and it´s no difficult at all, enjoying the views and the autumn smells, under the canopy of green trees. The trail that follows the other side is apparently more difficult and uphill.

Small restaurant attached to the Museum of Mazonovo Mills , specializing in Fabada Asturiana and Truchas with fried ham and chips to the traditional way of Taramundi . It has a terrace in summer.
My husband, 5 year old daughter and I were on our way to Taramundi and found this quite by accident. We stopped for a quick coffee before visiting the museum next door (which, incidentally, was well worth the visit for both adults and children). Having checked out the menu, we decided to stop there afterwards for lunch. My husband ordered the Menu del dia, which was 11⬠and had Fabas Asturianas (a typical bean stew with chorizo and ham), some trout with chips (which were incredible - cooked in decent oil, you could tell), rice pudding and a drink. I had a mixed salad and the trout, followed by the rice pudding too. Everything was homemade, freshly cooked and top quality. Having eaten out on various occasions during our stay in Galicia and Asturias, the quality and service we had here at a decent price, is not always easy to find. We would definitely return there if we passed by again. Thank you Meson Mazonovo.
