Things to do in Sorbas
An ideal place to spend a quiet day, surrounded by a landscape completely opposite to what we are used to in AlmerÃa. Enjoy our traditional food, the one of a lifetime, seasoned with our personal touch to give it a contemporary and modern touch.
Would definitely recommend for breakfast, tapas and drinks. Lovely terrace to sit outside, everyone is so friendly, would thoroughly recommend

This is a nice little family restaurant with friendly staff in the pretty village of Lucainena de la Torres. I had booked ahead, (on Facebook) and got an instant reply, because I had read that it was quite small, it did have plenty of tables though. We opted for Menu del dia which was a reasonable 10â¬. We had house wine, which surprisingly was a very nice Laujar, and a large water included. We had 5 or 6 choices for each course. My starter was a mushroom ruvelto with rather too many (although quality ceps) mushrooms and little egg.My main course of calamari would have been nice if the accompanying potato dish which had been reheated was not swimming in oil. My companions had pork which they both said was cooked to perfection but again with the potatos. We all had leche frita for dessert, rather too many and not as tasty as some we have had.Coffee was included which was a nice bonus. Not a bad meal overall just a little disappointing.

Chanced on this great restaurant by taking the wrong road to another place. Glad we made the mistake.Beautiful lunch in the shade of an orange tree, only sorry for the owner having to make frequent trips into the garden to present excellent dishes prepared with great style and care. Good choices for a lunch menu and very helpful for our vegan friend, nothing too much trouble. Being a late lunch we were able to spend the best part of two hours enjoying the meal.Would recommend visitors passing by in the region to call in, they will not be disappointed. We are also very happy that you made a little detour (mistake) whilst driving on the lovely quiet roads in Real Spain, rustic Andalucia in the interior of Almeria,The gardens are great for shade this time of the year and with a soft breeze make it an ideal place to dine and take in the ambience of the Spanish country side. Many of our customers now prefer to share dishes of the main menu as well as a selection of tapas. Therefore, we are adapting daily to our customer's wishes. To this extent; We are creating a new menu with a selection of everyone's favourite dishes and something new to try.The new menu will encourage the true "Spanish experience of family dining and sharing dishes" of slow food from our wood fired oven. We look forward to you dining with us in the not too distant future.Thank you again for visiting us, The team.P.s Members of "Albar customers Club" receive the best discounts and perks when we hold our events at the restaurante Albar, and always book direct at Hotel Casona Granado. In the Almerian hills of the interior of Rural Andalucia Rustic Spain. join "Albar customers Club"

Right next to the caves tourist site, this place serves great tapas and reasonably priced drinks. There is a spot to park Autocaravanas / Campervans nearby too. Friendly staff and not far from Sorbas.

We have been using this restaurant more than eight years and we love it. We are welcomed every time we visit by the staff. The food is great, plentiful fresh and delicious. The salad is yummy to start, and everything we have ordered is wonderful. Paella day is on Thursdays go after 2p.m. if you want that. I can't fault it.

Spanish cuisine, tapas, and daily menu in the beautiful town on Sorbas, AlmerÃa. El Fogón de Sorbas Restaurant
Stopped off for lunch here about 1.30pm on way back from the amazing Olive Oil museum/shop/restaurant just up the road (restaurant wasn't open till 1.30 hence stopping at this place instead). When I entered the bar area with my family and suggested to the we'd like to eat, the waitress looked slightly surprised, and proceeded to switch the restaurant lights on (it's a massive restaurant), ushered us in and presented menus. My wife and I decided to get a bottle of house red (can't go wrong with house red in Spain, surely??). We'd been in Spain about 10 days, and I'd been suffering from a UTI most of this time. I won't go into detail, but pouring the insipid, pale, pissy house wine into our glasses just reminded me of my recent ailment. When I asked in my best Spanish to change it for a bottle of Rioja, it was a no. They brought over two plates of cold 'appetisers' consisting of tinned sweetcorn, green olives (anchovy flavoured), black olives, white onion, hard boiled egg and soggy, brown, chopped up, unidentifiable flaps that I swear screamed at me promising that they had once been part of a respectable lettuce family. As an annoying vegetarian, obviously there was nothing on the menu for me. I did, however, notice a laminated poster in the bar area offering sandwiches, so I ordered a cheese and tomato sandwich. My wife ordered the 'beef steak', and my twin boys chose swordfish and hake, both of which went down very well, and looked well-cooked. My wife's steak was not bad, apparently. My cheese and tomato sandwich consisted of a demi baguette that was so old and tough, that my jaw muscles nearly broke, and the 'tomato' was a wipe of tomato purée. Absolutely, completely, totally and utterly horrendous. The only saving grace, from my point of view, was that the bottle of wine was so cheap (â¬4,50) that I couldn't complain about it. The girls in the restaurant were just doing their job, and I couldn't fault them really. I don't like to be mean, I really don't, but my insides felt dirty for the rest of the day. Fish and meat ok. Sandwiches, bread, wine - dirty, old, stale and just horrid.

The food is of good quality, presented well and very good value for money, the service friendly and efficient and the surroundings pleasant. A good spot for lunch after visiting the nearby Sorbas caves or walking round the interesting town with its hanging houses.

went to Almeria in December to see my son. He introduced me to this lovey bar/restaurant and I had the pleasure not only to sample some delicious food in particular Maria beef strogonofff but also their warm hospitality. Both Maria and her husband Chris could not be more accommodating and it was a real pleasure to spend a few hours in their company. Will return in the late spring for more of the same!!! Thank you and happy New Year.Thank you Danielle, it was a delight to meet you and be able to spend time with you. Also we are so pleased you enjoyed our food and hospitality and look forward to seeing you again in the spring. Wishing you and your family and wonderful Christmas and New Year.
