I had dinner at this place with my wife, daughter and some of my in-laws. We did not have a reservation, but we were very rapidly accommodated in a spacious table. Our servers were very nice, they even helped us with my father-in-law wheelchair... Despicte the the fact that the restaurant was rather full the food came out very quickly. We all enjoyed the 18 euros menu, which includes several options all very good. I had a very tasty mountain-style rice, a great sirloin steak that was cooked to perfection and cream caramel with whipped cream. Others had salad, lamb chops and roasted chicken. The quality of the food was well above average, as in some places you have to pay more than 18 euros just for the steak. I am positive that we will visit again.

It was very pleasant here, we liked the food, the staff and the atmosphere. The restaurant is divided in two sections, one for drinking and eating tapas, the other for dining. When we were there, the restaurant was only half-full, but the service was fast, efficient, helpful and very friendly. The night before we made the mistake to go into the center of Puigcerdà to eat in an over-priced restaurant...

Restaurante ubicado en el centro de Puigcerda, estilo moderno, platos elaborados a precio asequible.
We have opted for the "menú degustació", 23 € plus drinks. The service has been really personalized and attentive, but not intrusive at all.About the food, they serve a selection of 4 starters (some of them, typical from the region) and three little desserts together (mixing fruit and pies). You choose the main dish. Everything has been really amazing, original, well cooked...We are going to repeat, for sure.

We stumbled across La Caixeta while trying to find El Caliu which was rated as number 1 on TripAdvisor. El Caliu didn't look very inviting or inspiriting from the outside so we decided to try La Caixeta instead. The décor is unusual, casual and inviting. The service was very friendly. And the food was great. Imaginative salads and great burgers. Nice wine served at the right temperature. And great music. What more can you ask for? Hopefully it'll be at the number one spot before too long.

I still don't know why I did not go to Emma so far. May be because it is in the middle of the main shopping streets in town ane I usually try to avoid this areas... Still, great surprise in all aspects and definitly a good choice to go.If you check from the outside you get a wrong view of the size and deco, as there is a wonderful subfloor with walls made of stone which is ideal for large groups or romantic dinners. Definitely good to make a reservation downstairs.Food menu is also surprising: I always thought it was mainly a pizzeria, but they do have plenty of -very good and big salads-, interesting pastas -taste de udon-, fish and meat - Grilled TBone steak included-.I especially advice to go there with kids as they have many choices for children. On top service was kind and efficient. So all together a very good alternative!Illustration: udon noodles for 12€Labels: $$, 2Eat, #Mediterranean, #Children, #Groups, #mustGo

Mountain restaurant at the middle of Puigcerdà city, where you can feel the real taste of our ceretan food. Cozy place with a decoration of metal and rocks. Feel the ceretan mountains!
Our intention was to go to a nearby restaurant but, as it was closed, we decided to check this one as it looked pretty nice from the outside... What a smart decision! We took the daily menu: 3 fixed courses, dessert and drink. Gorgeous all of them, including the house wine. Courses were tasty and greatfully presented. Size was relatively small but, as there were three main ones it was more than enough all together.Great finding!Illustration: daily set menu for 15,5€Labels: 2eat, $$, #mediterranean, #mustgo

A table with food scraps. Coffee, empty glasses and some odd cork coexist with dinners' cheerful conversations. They speak, explain their things and thoughts, they give an opinion and there is even someone who raise the voice. Is at that time where the co
A great find in Puigcerda for tapas, beer and wine. Atmosphere perfect, with friendly groups on a Friday night. But even more outstanding was the welcoming service and knowledge of wine and food. Somehow the whole experience made us feel like we were almost local.

What a nice surprise. Last time I was here the place was called el"600 de la Pepi". Spot and deco are almost the same (both great) but cousine and service just reachead another level of excelence: great friendly and efficient service and amazing good food, from starters to desserts, with a special mention to the exquisite rices.A must in la Cerdanya.Illustration: rice with sausage and mushrooms for 15€Labels: $$$, 2Eat, #mediterranean, #children, #terrace, #views, #mustgo

I came with the kids looking for the "bravas similar to the ones at Bar Tomas (from BCN)": may be those at l'Esquirol ara not that too level, but definitely are quite good. There ar no further tapas (except for croquetes). Remaining menus is about pizzas, toasts, grilled meats and burguers. There is also a 2 set menus (15€ and 21€ each) where you can choose a variery of first courses, sexind courses and dessert (everything included). We took pizza, burguers and one set menu and I must say we liked it all.Decoration is pretty good too despite is the groundfloor of a mountain hotel.Illustration: bravas potatoes for 3,5€Labels: 2eat, $$, #mediterranean, #children, #terrace
