I found this restaurant in a DK guide book for Mallorca and set about reading other TripAdvisor reviews about this and other restaurants in Portocolom on the east coast of the island before deciding to give it a try. My husband wanted a high quality seafood meal and we were keen to find a place off the beaten track to enjoy a lazy lunch. I had called ahead to reserve a table and opted for a table inside as I knew it was going to be hot. On arrival in the village, however, we were early and found that the restaurant also had tables across the little road in front of it which were right next to the marina. We were easily able to swap to one of these and the waitress kindly moved the tables so that we could all be in the shade. The staff were incredibly helpful, discreet and friendly and are a real asset to the restaurant. They spoke multiple languages as well. We ordered king prawns and small peppers for a starter and our kids liked them so much that we ordered another portion of each again. My husband and I shared the salt-baked sea bass which was brought to the table whole and was then served in front of us. Our children had more unadventurous dishes (Schnitzel and chips; spaghetti Bolognese) but we were pleased they tried the starters. For dessert we had cheese, sorbets, Oreo cheesecake and almond cake with almond ice-cream. Other reviewers say they would definitely go back here and I would second that. The location was understated, leisurely and traditional and we really enjoyed our leisurely lunch in this lovely water-side location.

My partner and I had passed this restaurant several times during our holiday and decided to eat here the evening before returning home. The food is not cheap but we thought we'd treat ourselves and, on arrival at the restaurant, we found it was busy so we thought that was a good sign. I have to say the food was tasty and well presented; we ordered mussels and prawns for starters and fillet steak for our mains. That is where the positive experience ended. The clientele appeared to be mainly locals and seemed familiar with the staff. However, when dealing with us, the staff were abrupt, unfriendly and everything seemed to be too much trouble for them. We felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Whilst still eating our starters we were rushed into ordering our main course as we were told the kitchen was closing in ten minutes! Not exactly an enjoyable, relaxing ambiance. We had to wait 40 minutes for the mains to arrive, by which time our table had still not been cleared since we finished our starters. All in all, there are plenty of other lovely restaurants in Portocolom which offer excellent customer service and a friendly welcome. I would steer clear of Restaurant Mestral and choose elsewhere!

Vora-Mar is a small friendly family business. Decorated all handmade. A money recommended. And we await you with open arms.
Very good pasta! Beautifully cooked and tasty pasty dishes. Tuna salad was also lovely. You donât get a lot (if youâre British youâll likely need something soon after) but highly recommended for lunch with a pretty view.

4 adults and 2 children enjoyed lunch on our first day of holidays here. We sampled the tapas which were delicious. Garlic prawns, padron peppers, patatas bravas, meatballs, tortilla, etc. Only one which was not excellent was the tortilla, hugely under seasoned. Kids loved the mini burger with the fried egg on, and wanted to go back to have it again!! Not cheap, but the location is great, on the harbour front. Would recommend Dear Jane,Thank you very much for writing this review and recommending our restaurant. We are very happy that you all enjoyed the food and environment, it will be a pleasure to welcome you back!Best regards,Babbo Portocolom

We had lunch at SaLlotja and were immediately addicted . A great location overlooking the marina of Cala Dor . Nicely designed and decorated with beautiful works of contemporary Spanish art ( some nice works by Amador and Broto ) . The terrace is spacious . And the food ! Good variety of interesting dishes that you donât find in every restaurant around the corner . We were delighted with the Frito of Chipirones and the Croquetas with ham , foie and apple Gelatine . The small Mediterranean soles are a real treat . Delicious !
