Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in Porto. The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present. The old town, centered at Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 14th-century São Francisco church is a main attraction, as are the local port wine cellars, mostly located across the river at Vila Nova de Gaia.

We had a great selection of charcuterie. The choice is exceptional. We had some tempura along with braised dishes. The staff explained all the menu as many of the dishes we had not had before. Great selection of wines and beers to accompany the meal.

Restaurant/bar that serves lunch and dinner, specialized in tapas and snacks , having a mood changing from a restaurant ambience to a lively and crowded bar after Midnight. Live music, of different styles, is always present from Wednesday to Sunday. Smoki
If youâre in Porto make sure to book RUA. Itâs a small wine / tapas bar 10 minutes walk from the centre (eg from Praca da liberdade near San Bento station) that has live music. The food and wine and beer are all good and the music is brilliant - great acoustics and vibe without being deafening so you can still chat if you want to. The staff could not be nicer or more professional (even though they spent a lot of time turning people away as the bar is small and the place is understandably very popular). Youâve been warned!

The Restaurant "TAPAS NA BOCA" is an informal and relaxed space where guests can enjoy a wide selection of tapas / snacks, typically Spanish. Ideal for small groups of friends who like to fool various snacks accompanied by a wine or Sangria.
We enjoyed our meal here muchly. Friendly waiting staff who gave good recommendations, even putting us off ordering too many dishes. I recommend the pico pau for meat eaters!

Firstly we were 2 x vegetarians,So maybe not the best perspective.Creamy mushrooms were just a think layer of cheese with mushrooms underneath, then we had some potatoâs stuffed with Roquefort cheese (way too much cheese) and then when finally the main tofu course arrived it was pretty good just took a fair bit of time.
