Things to do in Mayaguez
Will only go there for nachos and margaritas nothing else. I ordered carnitas and was given little pieces of pork with an orange color but definitely those were not carnitas. My nephew ordered tacos and told me they were ok., my niece ordered a chimichanga and was not impress either.

Recently visited El Castillo restaurant but did not like the food quality. Didnt like the chicken breast or the stuffed mofongo. Fairly overpriced although nice 90's ambience that reminded me of my childhood. Try visiting for the buffet lunch options but skip evening dinning. Won't be back in quite a while.

Really enjoyed our drinks made with freshly squeezed fruit. Very nice variety on the menu with a lot of additional dishes off the menu. The lamb chop plate was amazing as well as the appetizers. A bit on the pricey side but in my opinion, worth it.

Finally a vegetarian restaurant that offered Puerto rican food options! They had Sancocho! This was so tasty. They also had fresh juice and salads. Be sure to call beforehand as they only open certain hours.

This place established more than 20 years ago is very respectable restaurant. Their croquetas are one of the best I have ever tried. Service could improve, is pretty slow .Their paella is very good , not excellent but good. They have a very refreshing sangria that is sure to please anyone. They have a nice space for parking. The restaurant itself looks really beaten up, desperately needs updating . I hope they give establishment a little TLC so the hole experience can be memorable.

If you crave puerto rican fried goods, this is the place. Everything is fresh and made in house. Taste is amazing and they sell a wide variety ranging from empanadillas, to alcapurrias and everything in between. They also serve breakfast, lunch and sandwiches.

Went with wife, kids and another couple. The place used to be much better, I am writing the review to see if the owner wakes up and realizes that a great place is becoming mediocre. Waiters are poorly trained and lack of follow up to the clients. They were drinking at work! The food used to be good now is not anything special. Churrasco was overcooked, tostones were burned and the sangria (used to be good) now is awful. Prices are ok but with quality and services is hard to pay afterwards. WAKE UP! used to be a great place.

La Jibarita has become a favorite for brunch at Mayaguez, and this past weekend I joined this new movement. I thoroughly enjoyed the steak and egg platter, cooked to a perfect medium. I must say that very rarely I find such good beef at our local restaurants, and perfectly cooked eggs. The family was also happy with their selections. Excellent service as well
