While staying in Recoleta, we had relatives take us to El Candado, as they live near the restaurant. Even though they took us home afterwards, we had taken a taxi(160 pesos) to get there, as they work into the early evening. Located in the Martinez/San Isidro area with parking on the streets. It's assisted by a local older gentleman, who was tipped afterwards. Everyone was ordering Italian, so we did also. I had chichen/spinach Ravioli(105 pesos), while my wife had Chicken Risotto with almond/peas(105 pesos). It was completely full, so thank goodness we had reservations. The waiters were hopping all evening. Definitely a local crowd. We shared a flan afterwards. We both enjoyed our meals. If in the area, would definitely return. But wouldn't suggest a trip there from the city, for sole purpose of visiting the restaurant.

Good solid made-from-scratch food, family-friendly loud environment. Affordable - less than USD 100 for a party of 6, with wine. Portions are huge! Half-portions are enough to share.

La Vicente Lopez, an antique bakery that transitioned to a culinary experience, is a signature place for most of the Locals. The bakery is beside its restaurant, so the resto receives breads and desserts directly from the source, which is an unique Advantage. Location and parking: busy area, there is a free parking in the same block of Zla Vicente Lopez restaurant.Setting, deco and table service: Although the setting does not help (too much stuff, crowded walls), the service and servers are really focused on details and on providing a top level service from start to finish.Menu: way tooo many options. You cannot be good at everything (pasta, fish, meat), so my recommendation would be to stick to the house specials. We tried Goulash & Spaetzle, napolitana milanese and were acceptable but Spaetzle was not made by the origial recipe. House wine is ok and you do not need to go higher to have an acceptable meal. Prices: overpriced.Great: bread basquet was excelent, with different type of breads ans sticks. There are other better options to this menu. Good in general, but needs a chef to give it a profesional flavor and take it to another level.

Iâve visited this place 3 times now, and every time it was delicious. The plates are made for sharing, and theyâre a good size. Iâd recommend ordering between 4-5 plates per couple. The grilled lettuce is a wonderful surprise! The hamburger is the best Iâve eaten in a long time, the steam buns with pork and coriander and excellent, and the aubergines with peanut sauce are incredible. The organic red wine is not to be missed either! The place is super relaxed with a shared dining experience. And overall Iâd say itâs well priced, itâs not expensive.
