Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in Lima. Lima, founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535, is a fascinating city and a treasure trove of history. Explore ancient Incan archeological sites, or stroll through the elegant cathedrals and opulent palaces dating from Spanish colonial times. Downtown Lima is crowded, but you'll enjoy exploring the city's neighborhoods—especially the beachfront areas, which have great shopping and dining and fabulous hotels.

Bistro 400 has a trendy modern look, both in terms of its decor and food. The Amazonian paella was tasty, especially the accompanying hot sauce. Desserts include traditional Peruvian ingredients and are beautifully presented. Service is very efficient and the majority of staff speak excellent English.Dear Steve,Thank you for take a time to write about your experience in our Bistro 400. After being in Peru for about a week, I somehow really started to crave Mexican food and this place hit the spot. I'm vegetarian and my bf eats anything and everything under the sun and we both loved it here. The staff was extremely friendly and our waiter (I wish I remembered his name!!) spent so much time with us to explain the menu and our options since everything was in Spanish and we only spoke English. I got the enchiladas which had an amazing chipotle sauce. They also have a hot sauce collection of about 10 hot sauces most of which were delicious. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cusco!

A fantastically well run restaurant with great service and great food. The use of Peruvian and Amazonian eclectic ingredients need not worry anyone and if you’re interested they will really engage on the provenance. But like all great restaurants the kitchen is able to make truly exceptional food with these ingredients, not despite them. Fully recommended.

Generally one eats very well in Lima, but Tragaluz is the exception. I had a dish of Andean fish called cervice on the menu but was fried fish bites. Then a grouper that had been ruined by an indescribable sauce. Since the restaurant is attached to the Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel, a superb hotel where I was staying, I expected similar quality but was wrong. One does much better in the mall 5 minutes down the street, especially the Popolar where the fish is expertly prepared— and without the offensive gook.Dear Sam MI was very sorry to read that your experience was less than satisfactory, but thank you very much for your feedback: we constantly strive to improve our service and food, and your feedback is vital in helping us to achieve this.We are very sorry for this experience and we are making the necessary corrections.Once again, thank you for your feedbackKaren Carrillo

Restaurante Arlotia

Found this place on google map with good ratings, very closed to the main plaza in Barranco. We arrived about 1215pm to the restaurant, door was closed. It was our first day in Lima, did not know that restaurants won't open for lunch til noon. They were having a meeting and told use to come back in a few mins. They opened at 1230pm. 1 waitress spoke broken English, we do not speak Spanish. There is English on the menu, food was tasty and fresh. Friendly service, does have wifi.
