El Borinot is one of 14 different restaurants in the tiny town of Peratallada. The town must attract tons of visitors during summer, but in May it is quite empty of tourists. The meal and experience was nothing short of fantastic. The owner David was extremely friendly and attentive, bringing us complimentary Vermouth and schnapps. Gail enjoyed roasted duck with pears, raisins and pine nuts, while I had a chicken and prawns combination in a brown fish sauce. The appetizer was tuna tartar. Best meal we have enjoyed in Spain...and one of our best ever.Making the night complete was meeting two British gentleman who were very friendly and jovial. One was in a choir, so they continually sang snippets of songs and received poetry. They were accompanied by a local artist and inn keeper. We enjoyed chatting with them, swapping stories and laughing a lot! Yet another wonderful travel experience!

Actually the best traditional tapas we ate during our stay in this area. Nice anchovies, nice tomato bread, good (though slighty greasy) potatoes. Fried fish were fresh and excellent. Price is ok. You can sit outside on the terrace, but it is next to a busy road, so not very romantic.

If you want to spend a very nice evening and eat the greatest food of Bisbal, Bisbal Park is the best place to go. They have the best sandwiches, the best hamburgers, and the best combined dishes. DELICIOUS!

Apart from being slow, and servicng us poorly there was an âincidentâ while we were there, a table umbrella wasnât fastened down correctly and blue away, this landed on the next table hitting someone hard on the head and breaking a glass sending the broken glass into a childâs pram. The waiter took for every to come out and at no point even apologised.Avoid!

It is a cozy place where every detail is taken care of, both in the dining room and in its exquisite kitchen.
I always think that being surprised for dinner is always the best thing. The food combinations and tastes, especially the starters were really interesting. Foie gras mousse, shrimpcarpaccio with thai touch, it was all delicious. We had a large table upstairs which was really fun and entertaining with lots of things on the wall. Critisism: the portions- especially mains were too large, and too expensive. A tasting menu of 60 euros is stretching it. Where the starters excelled, the mains were not that special and too large. It was a fun evening but we wouldn't especially return again, it wasnt special enough. But service was lovely and with a special touch, also for the children with a welcome drink.

Welcome to Cala Nena , a new concept of cold kitchen with top quality fisch cans, seasoned with sauces home made, great "embutido" with our super tipical bread with tomatoe and daily specials depending on market and season !! Do not miss it!
Very nice located in charming little town, full of restaurants. The chef receives the guests and we recommend to follow his suggestions for the âcompartirâ menu. Nice smaller and bigger portions to share. Ours were all very tasteful. A little bit more expensive but certainly worthwhile.

Having walked around town for 30 mins trying to find a restaurant that looked inviting, we came across El Teatret. We sat outside under the trees and were treated to a very special dinner. Between the waiter/owner's little English and our total lack of Spanish we managed through broken French to order his fresh whole Monkfish (to share between the two of us)...which turned out to be some of the nicest fish that we have ever tasted. Expertly served alongside beautifully roasted vegetables, the slightly smokey, sweet firm flesh just melted in our mouths. Euro70 (including entree, bottle of nice wine and water) this was great value. So much so as we returned the next night to sample his other fresh whole fish (species unknown and again our Spanish was not sufficient to translate). This time we started with a stunning Jamon and cheese salad which was wonderful...and the fish, whilst not as good as the Monkfish, was still beautifully cooked and great eating. Again, when the bill arrived, great value. The waiter/owner was very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend to anyone around La Bisbal...but don't expect anything before 8:30pm.

Was invited to this restaurant, the town doesn't really encourage you to go but you should. We did not do the degustation menu but chose various starters and then a main for each. The food, combination of flavors and presentations are taken to the extreme, making this experience unforgettable.

With more than ten years of experience, in 2012 we started a new project in a tipical house of Baix Emporda with a beautifull garden, a privat Parking, privat diningrooms and a sunroom . Excelent for any ocasions. An excelent restaurant for your events or
We went for a lunch and what a greatly surprise. From the outside, it looks like another farm house (masia) converted to restaurant. But once inside, the atmosphere is very accommodating and the young owners (David and Laura), extremely amicable and helpful.Great Catalonian food with a fusion twist and with the exception of the snails on a stone, the rest of the dishes we tried were excellently prepared.

We came across this restaurant quite by accident, filling in time waiting for the circus festival to begin. Sunday lunch for 3, fixed menu. Fantastic food, worth paying a Sunday/Festival premium for. It looks quite small and uninspiring from the outside, but is actually very airy and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and extremely helpful and with a good level of English. Will definitely return if in the town again.
