I was driving around after visiting the Cloisters and wanted to grab a bite. This corner restaurant grabbed my attention. The decor was casual with Mexican influences. The menu was decent. Our waiter was friendly but didn't seem to be knowledgable too much about the food, He kept going to the kitchen to ask the chef. Our guacamole was very fresh and delicious. My salad was crisp, lite and flavorful. I wish they had the option of a protein to add on. The tacos were average. I personally did not like the octopus but my friend liked her pork. I was told that the tortillas were gluten free. I think this is a new restaurant and they are still ironing out the kinks. Its worth a visit, specially for small bites and drinks. Their drinks menu looked really good.

This is a restaurant that started as a "whole-in-the-wall" and has all grown up into 2 locations. This restaurant specializes in having a fusion of traditional sushi with Dominican food staples such as: fried cheese, salami and plátano amount others. The sushi have curious names from the Dominican Republic like: "Campesino", "Conuco", "La Chapiadora", amount others. In my opinion the best sushi options are: "Campesino", "Conuco", and "The Heights". The restaurant is mid priced but can quickly add up as the prices per/roll are between: US $8 - 15.This restaurant has a relaxed feel to it with a young vibe to it, nothing fancy and the staff are very friendly. The staff is mostly bilingual in English/Spanish. This restaurant has outside & indoor sitting. One advice I will give you is that the best time to go early as this restaurant gets very packed on the weekends especially in the Spring/Summer time.

Bumped into this restaurant by chance and was very happy I did. It's as close as a Spanish tapas bar you'll get in Washington Heights, and maybe NYC. Staff speaks Spaniard Spanish and were very attentive. Can't wait to return with a bigger appetite. Only warning is that it's cash only, otherwise we'd have eaten more! They do have a private ATM on premises just in case.

So I ordered the Shrimp Mofongo and the mofongo itself was AMAZING but my shrimp were not deveined! This is a rookie mistake and also unappetizing and displeasing to the eye. The service was also a bit slow but to their defense it was super packed. Everything else was pretty good, the bread, the beef mofongo, and longaniza mofongo were all delicious.

I pride myself in loving Latin American food with family in Columbia. My wife had a delicious grilled chicken salad. Our cousin had a delicious chicken and rice dinner with frijoles.and my arroz con pollo with plantanos fritos y frijoles was simply amazing. So much food...dinner for tomorrow. Our first trip there. We'll be back.
