I went to a party here for a birthday. WOW!!! All the menu items are tapas.. which means small plates. They have the most incredible selection of authentic dishes from Spain, Central America and some dishes that are American by design but Spanish in flavor. In addition, there is a great wine list. There was also a great band to keep in the Spanish spirit. What a night. I think we had one of everything on the menu - really good food. Go and enjoy - this is a real treat. Valet parking is a plus. It can be very noisy...not a place for an intimate conversation. You can see their entire menu on their website.

First - it is important to make reservations even on a weeknight since this is a popular new restaurant. We didnât have reservations but ate dinner at the bar - which filled up by 7 PM on a Tuesday night. The best way to describe the food is Oaxacan-Mexican, not regular Mexican with lots of cheese and refried beans. The food here is more refined highlighting flavors of the fresh ingredients. We ordered the Enmoladas (chipotle chicken enchiladas with mole sauce) and Tacos de Arrochera (steak tacos). Both were delicious. I suggest ordering a side dish as we were still a bit hungry. Parking is valet only with a $2 charge. The bar scene is vibrant and the cocktails offer interesting twists. We enjoyed both the Verdita Margarita and the Oaxacan Peach.

An intimate luncheon with my wife and niece was made all the better by the wonderful service, ambiance and outstanding food at Under the Cork Tree. The Golden Beet and Herb Goat Cheese Salad with candiedâ walnuts, arugula and balsamic vinaigrette was excellent. The Shrimp a la Plancha, served as appetizers were a great treat. This is an outstanding luncheon spot, that we will visit again when in Sandy Springs.

After a long day of travel and heavy Atlanta traffic, we were in no mood to get back on the road. Just so happens this quaint Mexican restaurant was just down the road from the hotel. Without much discussion, this was the evenings dining destination! As it turns out GREAT choice! The food was awesome and plentiful. I had the La Botana Especial which was a sampling of the most popular fare, a taco, and enchilada, a tamale, a chille relleno, beans, rice and a bit of guacamole salad, all for $9.95! Needless to say a to go box was needed! We arrived just before 1700 and good thing we did as shortly thereafter there was a line at the door waiting, on a Wednesday. Anyway, the outside is not too much to look at but as I've said in some of my other reviews, don't judge a book by its cover, which applies well here. The inside of the restaurant is dated but who really cares, the food is awesome, the prices more than reasonable, especially for a north Atlanta locale! The staff was exceptionally friendly and despite the dinner rush, was quite attentive. So, if you're in the area and want some great Mexican food, give this place a try! Thanks for reading!
