With a population of 92,363 in 2011, the town lies on the River Skerne, a tributary of the River Tees. The town is administered as part of the Borough of Darlington. The town owes much of its development to the influence of local Quaker families in the Georgian and Victorian era, and who provided much of the finance and vision in creating the Stockton and Darlington Railway, the world's first steam locomotive powered, permanent passenger railway. I held an event at the Tapas Bar last week and everything from initial enquiry to running of the event was perfect. Beccy was amazing at making sure everything went smoothly on the night and I can't thank her enough. I had such great feedback on the event including the room - the Jonny Maracas, which enabled us to have plenty of room for live singer Christy McAllister, food and for guests to mingle. I also came a couple of weeks ago for dinner with my parents and the food was delicious. Couldn't ask for more helpful staff, and will definitely be back for more yummy tapas.

Thought weâd try this restaurant for a change. Glad we did. £10.95 for two courses. We both opted for starter and main. I had the fried black pudding with mash and gravy although they do name it a bit posher. My daughter had the mussels and I must say both were superb. Then for main course I had chicken and chorizo paella and she had the 28 day steak which did cost £4 extra I noticed, but was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Overall very tasty, good portion size and value for money. We will return en mass.

This place is still my fave place for brunch. Their eggs Benedict are second to none. Simply amazing and the staff are so attentive and friendly, plus professional. A great find and somewhere that I will continue to come for years and years.
