We have friends in town visiting and we took them to Taco Mesa on 19the Street in Costa Mesa. The place in fun just on the outside - you cannot miss the graffitis. But this is a good and not an art review. And the food does deliver. I had a chicken Quesadilla, everyone else had A good sampling of all the Taco offerings. What I have tried, was all outstanding.Caution, the food is initially not spicy, but there are a few sauces available to spice things up to meet everyoneâs needs. We will be back, especially now where itâs a bit colder outside and you can have dinner outside under the heat lanterns - great food, great vibe.

I made the reservation with high expectations based on the others' reviews of the restaurant, along with the reputation of the chef. My expectations were quickly dashed when the food came. The skirt steak was inedible - so badly charred that all we could taste was the char. It was like eating a tough, expensive, loaf of ash. In surprising contrast, the seafood paella, which should have had a nice crusting, had none. Although the rice was perfectly cooked, the seafood was all undercooked, as were the bell peppers. The pulpo and potatoes were warm and cold respectively. The bacon-wrapped dates and potato and ground beef balls were the best dishes. The waitress never once asked how the food was and she was always rushing away. Given the reviews, I can only assume the chef was off for the night and nobody was supervising the kitchen. I won't be back, but I left with the feeling that this was just a bad night for kitchen, but more disappointingly, nobody there seemed to care.

Not knowing the area, this restaurant was recommended by a friend. When we arrived there was a great atmosphere which continued throughout the evening. We received a warm welcome, the waiter walked us through the menu and made some recommendations. The dishes were served quickly and were very tasty. Despite it being so busy Adam, the manager, was stopping by tables to chat to guests which was a great personal touch and helped make a great evening. I'd recommend you try Pueblo Tapas if you're ever in the area.

I ordered the chicken platter. Food was outstanding and very fresh. They have a salsa bar as well. Would definitely come back.
