We had just visited the windmills and castle and stopped here to have some lunch. I wish we hadn't bothered. We waited over 45 minutes for our starters to arrive while people who arrived after us were already having plates cleared. It's not as if we ordered anything special (gazpacho and a tomato salad) or even hot!The gazpacho was nothing special but the salad looked like it had just been dropped on the plate, then pelted with olives. I'd had enough at that point and sent them back, cancelled the mains, paid for the water and pepsi we had drunk and left. The owner tried to argue that it was normal to wait this long, then placed the blame on too many customers. The waiter just stood coughing and looking generally confused. If I could give this a lower review than terrible I would.

We visited Consuegr's windmills and when we came back to our rental car, we had a flyer with Castilla's menu on it. We stopped by and had a great lunch (a "menu" with first course, second course, dessert, water, wine, and bread for a very reasonable priice). They have a dining room on the back. Everything we ordered was delicious, and they provided excellent service.

After visiting the windmills we were struggling to find somewhere open in Consuegra, even though it was lunchtime. A couple of the restaurants noted on Trip Advisor were open, but empty and quite pricey (for the area). We decided that the best bet was to look for somewhere which seemed busy (not as easy as you might think in a deserted town!). We stumbled across La Bodeguita very close to the bus station, which was filled with local families. The 'a la carte' menu was somewhat overpriced, as were the 'tasting' menus - bearing in mind that this was a tiny bar/restaurant. However there was a 12 euro 3 course menu including a drink which we selected. The food was fresh and perfectly fine. My husband had the 'hake a la plancha', although he wished he'd ordered my ribs; cooked in garlic and oil. I chose a glass of red wine as my free drink, and I actually got a carafe of local wine.Very pleasant and a good lunch before setting off on the drive to Madrid.

We discovered this place when we took a tour to La Mancha-Toledo 3 months ago. We had lunch here and wow! It was the best meal we've ever had! EVERYTHING was superb. The bacalao tempura, costillas, salad, to name a few. If you are in Consuegra, you have to try this place. We didn't know the name of the restaurant but found it because of the pottery workshop and garden. This looks like someone's house but the food is worth going back for. We definitely are!

We went to Consuegra to see the windmills and happened upon this place. We arrived before they were opened and they made us welcome and served us early. The food was outstanding and very accommodating for vegans. I would definitely recommend timing windmill visit to hit this place too!

Traditional & fusion cuisine that combines elements of different culinary traditions by the chef Pedro Rodriguez
I visited in my cousins' communion and the experience was incredible. The cooks really know how to make the flavors and textures interact. I tried there the best burger I've ever had, and their "Salmorejo" (traditional spanish soup) was fantastic. If you are running in a loose budget, don't hesitate. They also have a beautiful courtyard to have a drink before dinner. Also my girlfriend was celiac and instead of doing as other restaurants do, and cooking a different dish or frying some eggs, they cooked the same dishes as for the rest but making them gluten-free. Five stars for them, incredible restaurant.
