I wanted to try this restaurant, that had only Cubans eating here. It has great bay views and it is water front!! There is indoor and outdoor seating. The service was pleasant. The table cloths and restroom was not clean. When in Rome. I tried two dishes. The fish soup â just broth with a few instant noodles. The grilled fish was fresh and very salty. This dish came with white rice and some fried things â the oil was old and poor quality for the fried things. $14 cuc. Not recommended.

Restaurant at the main street, located inside an old colonial building. Clean and with good service personal (maybe a view to much service staff)The food was different, while the "Filete de Res" was more like a German Schnitzel, the rice with seafood was good. The Cuban TropiCola is not of a bad taste. The toilets have to be paid even by restaurant user.

This place is near the hotels near the beaches of Rancho Luna. We came here with some friends. This is a nice quite place, where many locals seem to enjoy on a Saturday. The singing and the comedy kept us laughing and enjoying the songs. The dancing and the competition was great and a good activity to laugh about at the end of the day.The food was wonderful and the drinks were about average in price. Nevertheless, the friends enjoyed as much as we did.

The restaurant has a privileged position in Cienfuegos, however the service was very slow and the food was terrible. Shrimps were overcooked and bad smelling, fish was like a gum. The waitress was nice and musician also, but the owner was rude with our opinion. The cocktails quality was poor. Anyway the view is awesome, we suggest you to visit it for a couple of minutes an take a beer of coke at the terrace.

November 2016The chicken was OK, but not great. The most expensive meal 'Mariscada Floridita Blanca' (21,65CUC) was not possible to eat. The Lobster was bitter and shrimps tasteless. Also we tried the shrimp cocktail - the shripms were raw. When I told this to the waitress, she just shrugged her shoulders. Do not recommend this place for meal.

As a group, we rated this little gem as best food of the whole trip!!! Served family style, flavors were outstanding and varied on each dish that we experienced. We ate mid afternoon and were the only people there at the time. This is a family restaurant and we met mom (the cook), dad (who built the place himself) and their kids who were the waitstaff. Rueben (the son) spoke excellent English and shared the story of how they were serving their grandmothers recipes (thus the Carmelina name). The place is a little out of the way but we all loved it!!! A real gem.

After strolling down the prado and malecon, this family style restaurant is ideally situated to settle for dinner. Delightfully cold beer comes in an iced glass. Simple yet tasteful place looking upon the malecon. Prices not particularly elevated. Frequented by many locals as well- a good sign. I had ordered fried tapioca followed by swordfish and shrimp, tasty and well presented. Coconut dessert served on a slice of cheese(!). Unusual combination rounding off a satisfying dinner. When I left the place was full, likewise next evening when we passed. Recommended.
