In the garden of the former Covent, now Paradore, sits this venue. It was a rainy day, so the garden section under the gorgeous fig tree was partitioned and we sat in a plastic chaired, roofed area. There was no welcome from the grumpy manageress, just a gesture to table and a graceless presentation of English menus. The snacky menu was varied and cheap. We ordered a mollete of local cheese and anchoas and a mixed platter of grilled ham, frites, chillies and egg. Both plates were generous and tasty. A gin soaked cocktail, two beers and a panacotta took the bill to â¬27. If you don't mind the coldness and lack of hospitality, then the food might make the visit bearable.

We were a group of 9 plus 3 kids and 2 babies, so we were a large group! Place is big enough to host this kind of groups and larger too. Food is local (cochinillo, cordero, etc) and is very good! They offer a wide variety of typical Spanish dishes and wines. After having lunch we went to the caves with the kids to have some fun and explore that original and particular place.

My wife and I chose this restaurant on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. The place is charmful and well decorated, with friendly staff. There were two menu, of 15⬠and 20â¬, with several options for both starters and seconds. For starters we had the setas guisadas (mushrooms) and migas al pastore, a sort of bread crumbs with bacon and eggs. The mushrooms were a bit flat, not very tasteful. The migas were good, although nothing too special. The real treat was the main course. We both had Rabo de Toro (bull's tail) and that was amazing. Dishes are well served, but the presentation is not great. They proud themselves for keeping the food homemade. For wine we had a local Madrid red 'joven' from Jesus del Nero. That wasn't such a great option. In Spain, for a good wine it appears you have to go for a Rioja or a Ribera. The final surprise was to learn that under the restaurant they have an old bodega, which is very curious to visit. Overall good experience and deserves a visit.

Wonderful lunch of arroz negro (with calamars) and arroz con langoustines. The restaurant is on the scenic Plaza Mayor. Service is excellent and the only meals we've had were wonderful. The lady who serves offered to take a picture of our group of friends. She is absolutely adorable and helpful.

El Bodegon - how more local and typical can you be !? - is the restaurant of the super 'parador', which offers spectacular monastic architecture and sublime courtyards and inner gardens. The menu is geared around the local specialties.Dishes come in generous portions and prices are very affordable. The food is plain good but not 'refined'. This place is special for its 'cocina de la madre', i.e. what you'd eat at home in this region. Pick this restaurant if you want to indulge in the local lifestyle and cuisine. Not if you are looking for fusion, molecular or trendy experiences.Service is very good, with local waiters and waitresses who take pride in working in such a special place.

La Repesca itâs a small Gastro Bar, in Plaza Mayor of Chinchón, with flavorful dishes and best in class wine cellar. Juan Carlos (Manager) is a truly welcoming person and a Jerez wines expert. We were 2 couples visiting Chinchón. We accepted Juan Carlos recommendations for some wine and food pairings - and it revealed to be a wonderful trip across refined dishes and nice wines! Wines were available by the glass, if you prefer. We tried about 6 dishes, my top favourites have been âHuevos encapotadosâ (hidden eggs) and âCroquetas de Gambasâ (shrimp croquettes). Not pricey at all, great quality/price - In Madrid city center, it would cost double. Terrace is available, in Plaza Mayor and nice quiet views. As it is a place with few tables I suggest calling for reservation, especially if you are a large group. Best hidden secret in Chinchón, absolutely recommended!PS: As itâs a historical building, only negative point I noticed is bathrooms downstairs, please have it in mind if you have reduced mobility.

The restaurant is located in the Plaza Major in the centre of the pretty little village of Chinchon. The hotel has balconies to overlook the Plaza. The food was excellent, the Gazpacho, nice steak and fries and a really interesting dessert with 'cheese cream' and mango sorbet. If you are looking for an escape from Madrid, get in the car and come here.

Typical Spanish house of the village turned into a restaurant- coffee shop. Very friendly atmosphere and home cooking with a cheap price.TÃpica casa de pueblo convertida en cafeterÃa restaurante. Ambiente muy agradable y cocina casera con un toque de crea
We have visited this restaurant twice now, taking the shared menu de degustation on both occasions. The food is beautifully prepared and presented, and the shared menu ensures that you get a taste of everything. We had a very good Navarra rose to go with it and had no problems with the sizes of the portions. The restaurant is simply yet elegantly decorated, the service is extremely good, and the quality and imagination that goes into the food makes it well worth the journey from Madrid for lunch.Dear customer,Thank you very much for your great feedback. We are very pleased to read that you enjoyed our tasting menú again We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you again at the Recua del Pelicano Restaurant.Faithfully yours,SusanaLa Recua del Pelicano

A different Restaurant in Chinchon. Family bussiness opened in 2002.Traditional dishes and recipes; located in main square.
We have tried several good restaurants in Chinchon as we stop over, many years, between Alicante and Santander but this one keeps improving. Imaginative, creative, well cooked, ample portions, wide variety of all courses. Great recommendations from staff including excellent local wines. We probably over garlicked today, but tomorrow is another day!
