Things to do in Capbreton
Was out at the nearby Orx Marshes, worth a visit if you like wildlife, and popped into Capbreton for a nice lesurely lunch. Looked at a number of empty restaurants and stumbled 9n this one with lots of locals sitting in it. Specials board looked appetising and in we went. Service was excellent in a jovial fun way. I had fishcakes to start and streak to follow. My wife had mussel frites as did my brother in law, and my sulister in law had the sardines, everybody agreed the food was gorgeous. Dessert was ice cream for me, and tiramisu for the rest. Again went down rather well. 2 bottles of rose, a round of beers and coffee, job done. Very reasonable and downright tasty. A pleasant surprise I must say.

Simply delightful. Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal. Mixed tapas style starter was wonderful value at 6 euros per head and consisted of fresh fish, mussels, prawns and a charcuterie selection. Mains were also very good, no one could fault their dish or portion size. Washed down with a very decent dry white wine recommended by the waiter - he was very attentive and extremely nice.

We came here on a night we couldnât get into a restaurant down the road. There were just a couple of folk in which wasnât a great sign given everywhere else was busy. Anyway...We started with drinks, I wouldnât recommend the Mohito, not good at all.We moved to wine and got a good bottle of red wine at a very good price. We then ordered a variety of tapas which was very good indeed, with the Coeur de Canard being stand out. The service although uncomplicated did what they should do and so in the end it was a surprisingly good visit. It was also good to see that later in the week, it did get busy.

We called in whilst the Fete des Chipirons was being celebrated and they had a special menu available.Mrs I&G had the Chipirons (squid) and I had the Merlu - both dishes were tasty and beautifully presented. We had the "deconstructed crumble" for dessert which was fabulous. The service was excellent and the superb sunset topped the whole thing off. Very good restaurant.
