Restaurante de cocina tradicional gallega, se aceptan reservas. Abiertos todos los dias a excepcion de los martes.En verano abrimos todos los dias.
Arriving before the locals, we had the undivided attention of our waiter who was very helpful with our food choices and regarding my being a coeliac and having to avoid gluten. We were given a picture book of the various fish and shellfish potentially on offer (those actually on offer being highlighted with a green sticker). My husband and I first chose the turbot, but our waiter suggested we also try the wild seabass. So, we ended up sharing one of each and the seabass was particularly delicious! Our children opted for steak (which was cooked exactly as requested - one rare and one well done). The homemade chips were the best chips they had during our holiday. We drank the house Albariño - the waiter left the bottle on the table and we were charged only for the half we drank. And this was only about 4.5 euros. For pudding, there was not a great deal of choice, but my Gallegan version of creme brûlée was perfect. Overall, the food was very good, the bill was extremely reasonable and our waiter was touchingly delighted that we enjoyed our meal and were so grateful for the care taken not to contaminate my meal with gluten.

Excellent service, the food is great and the prices are not excessive. I'll definitely come back when I come to Cangas.

A lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, fine food and the best wine of our holiday topped off by a great location with harbour views. Highly, highly recommended. Desperate to plan a return visit !!

It's really a pleasure to have found this restaurant a little bit away from the typical tourist circuit (it can be reached with Google Maps). It is joyful to be able to enjoy a place where the local product is respected and also dare to make their own proposals without reaching the illusion of the highest level cuisine. All that is correct and for those who think of the prices or quantities seems to have no idea of the fair value for money that you pay here that is, without a doubt, the first value of this restaurant.

Read the reviews and was recommended by our apartment owner. The food was of poor quality. We ordered an array of meals (seafood, meat, salads) and each one was disappointing. The lack of taste was concreted when I saw the chef in the kitchen carrying empty packets to throw in the bin...

After days of wonderful seafood meals, we were eager to find a place to finally eat percebes (a Galician delicacie) - Casa Macillos didn't disappoint! In addition to a wonderful seafood parillada, we also ordered fried skate (raya frita), a mixed salad, another mild, white fish that the waitress recommended, beef croquetas, and a ribeye steak (entrecot). The quality of the ingredients was top notch and the fried skate was among the best fish dishes we had on the trip (although beware if you don't like to work your way around bones). We topped it off with another round of Santiago cake and the obligatory chopito (liquor shots of coffee drinks). Would love to be able to come back again!

We went in for the grilled razor clams but they were off that day. Not a problem, I chose a dish of excellent mackerel and potatoes. The wine was good, I was happy. Halfway through I found a large dead beetle like creature hiding amongst the potatoes. This put me off. The staff were shocked, appalled and apologetic. The lady of the house seemed very genuinely upset. She scratched the bill for both food (my wife was having a decent ham dish) and wine. We left, a spoiled lunch. A shame because it's a place of great atmosphere and decent wine.

Much has been said about the restaurant and its location. So I will comment on Puerto Aldan. The drive from Cangas was just lovely and the port is a beautiful spot. Ships that work the bateas in the ria, small pleasure boats docked. Beautiful setting. The restaurant was not that hard to find if one reads the comments here. We had a simple lunch of pulpo washed down with tinto with gaseosa. The freshness of the pulpo was obvious.... great! We are in Cangas for a few more days, so we'll be back.

Visited this on an early Monday afternoon, this is known not to be a lively time for late lunch or early dinner. Those who know Vigo, know that in the same area, Pedra, where El Mosquito is located is a dozen good small eating establishment serving plain seafood. The reason for going to El Mosquito is their large wine cellar, this gives your food an additional flavour. The Arroz con Bogavante (lobster with rice) was tasty but not out of the ordinary.
