Things to do in Cacabelos

We stayed there during our second Camino de Santiago. Very Nice small hostel in the center of Cacabelos. The restaurant was nice with a good pilgrim menu and excellent red wine.
Conto basso
This place is run by the sister of famous Spanish winemaker Raul Perez and her husband, and it's worth a stop if you're on the Camino de Santiago. The food (for lunch) consists of paëllas and pizzas but more interesting are the wines (mainly from the family winery Castro Ventosa in Valtuille del Abajo), which are fantastic. That winery is about 3km away, and is also worth visiting (call ahead).

No excesivo. Volveremos.

It was a nice meal, for a reasonable, menu-del-peregrino price. The lentils and the veal were really nice, the dessert was ok, the fries were not good. But it is not every day that you eat meat and a lot more for 10 euros, so i totally forgave the bad fries.

Very sloppy service. Many things supposedly on the menu werenât available. Quality of all the food when it arrived was not great and uninspiring presentation. Only thing which they got right were the fried potatoes which for once werenât full of grease.

Nice restaurant with a wide and selected menu. Appetizers, salads to begin with. The a multiple selection of meat to choose for. Or instead fish, preferibly cod. Anyway in the area better to try meat dishes. Desserts also remarkable. Also good offer of wines from the reagion: the typical Mencia varieties.

Top 10 Spanish food in Medina de Pomar, Province of Burgos, Spain

A traditional Galician restaurant offering the Menu del Dia for â¬10 which covered three courses, bread and a drink. The waiter couldnât speak English, we couldnât speak Spanish but we met half-way as he was able to explain the menu in French. We started with homemade lentil soup, followed by a traditional Galician dish of slow cooked veal and rounded off with the Spanish version of cheesecake. Excellent home cooked food, amazing value and really friendly service. Oh....... and a welcoming roaring open fire on a chilly April day.

Waited 20 minutes for tortilla pincho (it was literally sitting on the counter). Came without bread. Asked for pan, it's been another 20 minutes and I'm still waiting. The place is completely empty so can't see why.Dear Nitai, we are really sorry because your experience in our house hasn't been very good. We apologise for that. Is is very important for us to make feel happy and satisfied to our customers. I will check what could have happened to avoid it to occur again.Kind regrads.
