We had a perfectly good meal here - however, the service was beyond a joke. We had French people with us and they were incensed at the slow pace. One waitress I think was more concerned about how beautiful she looked. The man in all this, I have to admit, was charming and spoke good English.

The Chef proposes you a local cooking with fresh products, with short sectors, security of freshness and quality. You will find traditional recipes around grandmothers' dishes, modern and revisited, cookings mastered in just seasonings, the Basque gastron
The flavours were so authentic and dishes carefully prepared. I loved the variety but I wasn't very daring. I loved the traditional Basque dishes. There was something for everyone - for the unadventurous, the traditional and the very adventurous diner had the option of locally farmed pigeon and rabbit. Service was excellent with great patience and pride shown in explaining in English the dishes and the origins of the produce used. The wines and drinks list was extensive. Lovely evening.

We were looking for a light lunch, and, because we were in Espellette, went in search of roasted pepper soup. A helpful shopkeeper suggested we try Restaurant Euzkadi, which serves a traditional Basque cuisine. We were shown into a very tasteful hotel dining room, where it quickly became apparent that a light lunch was not the norm. Roasted pepper soup was not on the menu, but kudos to our waiter for adjusting to our desires and for introducing us to elzekaria, a traditional Basque vegetable soup, which we enjoyed with a bit of salad, an order of pate for the table, some bread and a good local white wine. Good restaurant, great waiter, and a perfect lunch for a group of overfed travelers!

It is in the typically Basque house of the 17th, held by Martine's family since the 1930s that this restaurant will open you its doors on a room transformed in the course of the generations; you can discover to it a traditional and regional kitchen elabor

Pure French tradition, cautiously respected. Everything is prepared in the kitchen (even the bread) with the best genuine local products. The chef is really keen on selecting the best producers and on preparing everything himself. The wine selection is absolutely perfect, the service is efficient and polite, the location inside the house or in the garden is gorgeous. All of that for very decent prices. What a work ! Thank you and Vive la France !

Even though we arrived late, the team arranged a way for us to eat. We've been treated to a delicious axoa. I've been spending half of the year in the Basque Country since I was born and I've rarely eaten one like that. Would definitely recommend + the team is super nice!

Located in a very traditional hotel in the main square you will be pleasantly surprised by the modernity of the interior and the dishes served. Whenever possible local ingredients have been used and the supplier acknowledged. Many of the meals on offer are based on traditional cuisine from the basque region, but have been given a modern twist. The owners will make you more than welcome. They are well supported by friendly and helpful staff.Make sure you leave room for one of their fabulous desserts. Well worth a try is the 'delice du moment' or the 'cafe gourmandise' produced by Franck Mendive, local chocolatier, delicious!

We went there after a little walk in the beautiful basqueland (my family go there often but for me it was the first time) and I was really pleased with my lunch. The food is simple but the quality is high. The service was efficient and the prices very good.Well done.

Our hiking group had a reservation for lunch on the outdoor patio. We approached the town on foot after a several hour hike to Bidarray. What a quaint little village. Complete with a beautiful church and well kept cemetery. Our lunch was served family style. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal of traditional Basque cuisine and the friendly service. Portions were large and if you had leftovers, there was a dog who was more than glad to help with dropped scraps :)It was nice to relax on this casual patio and experience an unhurried, conversation filled lunch.Enjoyed seeing this small village and appreciated its hospitality.
