We arrived in Baza for a 3 day break to visit family who live nearby. It was late when we checked into our hotel, around 10.30pm and we wanted to stretch our legs with a walk round the town and get a bite to eat. The town seemed very quiet then we came around a corner and discovered this little bar- it was packed. What a fabulous discovery- great atmosphere, classy people, we had Tapas at the bar which was fabulous- croquetas, chicken skewers and a big gin and tonic:)

I live in Baza and this is my favourite restaurant for a special treat out. The food is Spanish with a twist. Sometimes a little too twisted, but the steak there is the best I have ever tasted. The staff are friendly and extremely attentive and some of the desert options are fabulous. Thoroughly recommend for a meal or simply for a drink out because they serve lovely tapas too. It's not cheap by Baza standards, so it is a treat, but well worth it.

Conveniently located close to the A92 motorway. We stopped for lunch and chose the â¬9.00 three course menu del dia. A good selection to choose from, well cooked and generous portions. Friendly and efficient service. Plenty of car parking on site. Will certainly visit again.

A group of colleagues looking for dinner, was recommended this restaurant by a local. Great suggestion! We all had different italian meals, they were all cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and a proper local atmosphere (with a Champion's League match on big screens :-) )Local gem, enjoy your meal!

Terrific restaurant which apparently has several awards under it's belt. Not surprising! Whilst there is a menu - a selection of fresh fish is displayed on entry for selection by the customer, then choosing the style they prefer it cooked. Great friendly service and first class food. Highly recommended and certainly 5 star.

We were determined to have at least one meal in Spain that was authentically Spanish and not tailored for tourists. Meson Siglo XX is a small, family-run restaurant and bar in the centre of Baza. Very welcoming and accomodating, but be warned - the owners do not speak any English. We got by with some very rudimentary Spanish on our part, and just by being prepared to try whatever food was offered on the menu del dia. The food was simple, basic even by the standards of a tourist restaurant, but very tasty and filling. And exceptionally good value. Three of us ate a three course meal, including drinks, and spent less than 30 euros.Like many traditional Spanish restaurants, there is no menu. If you speak some Spanish, you will be absolutely fine, and even if you don't the place is welcoming and friendly. We had soup, salad and cold meats starters, chicken, pork and calamari main dishes, and various puddings in the style of creme caramel. Will definitely eat there again if we go back to Baza, but this time, we will know how to say more than 'thank you' and 'yes, please'.

We stopped here for a Menu del Dia lunch and what a lunch - it was fantastic and the best we have had in the five years of living in this area. The Restaurant is set around a lovely garden with tables attractively laid out on the covered terrace. Alternatively there is a pretty restaurant. The lunch started with a very tasty crab terrine appetiser, served on the house. We then had traditional revueltos with mushrooms and them a timbale of lenguado (dover sole) which was really delicious and so attractively presented. The pudding was home made, a cinnamon mousse served on a sponge base and again beautifully presented. Accompanying the meal we had a particularly good bottle of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from Bodega del Anchuron near Granada. Served with our coffee at the end of the meal were little white chocolate cases filled with Bayley´s.The whole meal came to â¬39, which we thought was fantastic value for such an exceptional meal. We will be returning to sample their Dinner a la Carte menu, which also seemed to be reasonably priced and offered a good selection of innovative food.

Excellent menu with the food presented perfectly. Many local dishes on offer, and the staff could not do enough to help and advise. Everything cooked with care and served fresh. This restaurant is not the cheapest but it has to be one of the best in town.

An excellent seafood restaurant. The service is very friendly and helpful if you don't speak Spanish too well. The fish was supremely good. We had an amazing meal for four with wine for about 80 euros. Worth every penny. The restaurant is absolutely immaculate- always a good indication of attention to detail. The owner is very charming.
