A rather average Bar but in a superb location- right in the centre of Atienza. This is a delightful small town with loads of history, a great trail to walk around and several hotels to spend a night. The food at Bar Pedro is fine/ toilets clean and the beer ice cold. Great place to spend a few hours.Definitely a place to return to and spend more time exploring and having some tapa.

My wife and I are experienced travelers. However we made a mistake stopping here. We asked for a menu--- after a few minutes we were served a soup. We assumed that a misunderstanding got us the plate of the day- so we figured it would be ok. The food was fair. All was good until we got the bill. Based on other similar meals, we think we were seriously overcharged.

Cozy, whose wall is built on ancient wall of the XII century, and still keeps the crib inside. Cozy and homely atmosphere with variety in portions, and a typical menu of products and local dishes, seasonal mushrooms, bacon, roast kid (on request), migas .
Much of the menu was not available. The meat came with a garnish of two pieces of tinned pimento. When we asked for chips or veg and were told they had no potatoes! We asked for a mixed salad to go with, were told that it was 'offered' but it appeared on the bill which was 97⬠for two with a bottle of cheap wine and two glasses of wine.

We enjoyed our meal which was simple but good and modestly priced good value for money. Pleasant and patient waitress coping well with our lack of Spanish.

It had been recomended to us but it looked simple and normal, we were sceptic. You would never expect such a sophisticated cuisine in such a distant quiet town. the cook has won several prizes. Excellent quality for money, we went 15 kilometres every day just to eat again there. Sadly, we were only two tables each night.

Stopped in Atienza to see the town. When asking about restaurants we were directed to Alfonso VIII. What a fantastic find! Atmosphere, service, and food were all exceptional. We ate lunch and found the Menu del Dia to be a superb value considering the quality of entire experience.
