The most famouse restaurant in almuñecar
Great little beach and restaurant servingwell prepared ,traditional Spanish food .We shared a beautiful avocado and tomato salad.Good job we're garlic lovers!!!Then I had a fabulous grilled sea bass with potatoes and veggies. 2 companions had the pork tenderloin with goat cheese and caramelized onions. It looked and smelled delicious.Other member of our party had an excellent Gambas pil pil. Huge prawns in a piquant chilli and garlic sauce. This isn't fancy food but it's good value overlooking a pretty cove.

We really liked the look of this quaint place hidden in the old town so we booked a table. Unfortunately there was a bit of a misunderstanding and my husband ordered the black pudding not realising in this region it often has dried fruit which he can't eat. However when we explained this and that it wasn't listed on the menu it was taken off the bill without us even having to asked. My overall impression of the waiting staff were they were really committed to ensuring customer satisfaction and the food we could eat was absolutely delicious. We both had fish as a main and it was really tasty and I believe one of the dishes we had has won a local food award and I can believe it ! Even though there was a mix up , it was sorted no problems, they apologised with no hard feelings and I wouldn't hesitate to return for more tasty food

I found this restaurant on TA. Just opened when we arrived so grabbed a seat. Ordered two drinks and fish Tapas arrived. We then ordered fresh mullet and one more drink when linguini tapas were placed before us. Service was good with only one man behind the bar. When we were leaving around 9.30 pm the place was packed even spilling out onto the street. Good typical Spanish tapas bar. Everyone must go when in town.

One litre of very tasty white wine and six tapas 12.50 Euros. I chose two orders of ham croquettes, two of calamari and two albondigas ... as it was dins for three hungry people we topped up with house salad and boquerones ... wasnât a fan of the meatballs (just my personal tastes) . Everything else was perfect ... total bill 30.00 Euros.

We've had our breakfasts three times (only because they were closed during the week at this period, otherwise we would have been everyday! )

We visited this restaurant in October 2019 for the very first time following previous good reports. The service was excellent and the food was extremely good. The setting of the restaurant is set in traditional Spanish surroundings. This restaurant is very popular as several couples were turned away whilst we were there. I would therefore recommend booking in advance. The food is good value for money.

I don't care what the TA ratings say: this is the best restaurant in La Herradura. Once again it was a delightful experience. I can add little to my previous reviews other than to say that exceptionally high standards have been maintained. Service is immaculate, the food delightful and atmosphere wonderful. Needless to say, we will return very soon.Muy agradecidos por su valoracion,Intentaremos seguir trabajando en este nivel y seguà subiendo .Esperamos su vuelta

Great new Taberna Ayer, always serving fresh cooked produce,See our fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor or find us on Facebook. Now with a full menu including many old favorites and some great new sharing plates and our evening grill menu, still serving grea
We last visited this restaurant when they were still in their old premises, and were pleased to see that they have been able to expand their menu after moving. Service was still extremely efficient and pleasant, and we were brought very tasty tapas whilst waiting for our food to be served. Two of us had burgers (very good, and huuuuge, with great chunky chips) and the other two had paninis served with lovely fresh salad and patatas bravas, making it a substantial meal. My only disappointment was that they were out of lemon drizzle cake on this occasion (I remembered how good it was from our last visit) so I had to settle for Bailey's cheesecake instead. Hard life but somebody's got to do it! Congratulations to the owners and their family for being able to maintain their high standards for so long, may they continue to prosper.Thank you for your very kind review. As a business thats been serving people in Almunecar for over 18 years its great to hear that our customers are still enjoying what we are serving. Sorry about the Lemon drizzle, we cant keep up with the demand even after all this time.Hopefully next time you will get a slice....Thanks again.

Always keen to try the no 1 on TA in a new area. Sometimes this disappoints and sometimes itâs a clearly earned. In this case it was very much the latter. Booked a table through the TA app and on arrival were seated on our reserved table in the outside seating area, candle lit ready to go.For starters we shared a melon and duck salad which was ideal, the melon and duck a perfect combination and more than enough for two of us.The menu is extensive but we went for the sea bass special. This was possibly the most succulent tasty piece of fish I have ever eaten. Served with potatoes and side veg. Absolutely delicious! For dessert we had a home made mousse and lemon pie. Again these were very good with generous portions. We had water and wine to accompany out meal and the bill was a very reasonable 81 euro. The service throughout was quick and efficient and the ambiance of the restaurant made it a delightful place to be.Thoroughly recommended.

We arrived early..around 1pm so we're the only ones there for a while. Service was friendly with some good English. Very relaxing overlooking the beach...a quieter cove at the western end. All the food was good. We shared stuffed mushrooms, then a gourmet burger and tropical salad. The salad was especially good. By 2.30 the piece was nearly full. Across the road away from the beach is the bar and inside restaurant which offers some cheaper dishes. Recommended for a special lunch
