Stayed the night at York Harbor Inn on Saturday night for my birthday.... Was recommended this place by the girl at the front desk when we checked out on Sunday morning. Was seated very quickly, within minutes of walking in. The service went down hill from thereSat at the table for about 15 minutes or so without anyone coming over. Finally, we flagged down a waitress and asked if we could order some waters and coffees. She stated it wasnât her âareaâ but took our order but was clearly annoyed by us asking to order. Fast forward 15 minutes, and still no coffee or waters. Flagged down another waitress and asked if we could get coffee. She said they were all out and some was brewing, which we got about 5 minutes later after walking up to the bar. Food came out and was terrible. My blueberry pancakes were stone cold and slightly burnt. My side order of bacon was delicious, but 2.00 for two pieces of bacon ? Come on. Waitress forget ketchup and when asked if she could bring some over she said âquit being so angryâ..... Never raised my voice and asked politely. What a nice way to treat a patron (not to mention it was by birthday). The entire time I felt WE were inconveniencing staff by our dining here for breakfast. PLEASE avoid this establishment. Absolutely horrific ...

Like many places in vacation-land this can get busy in the summer. We had passed by many times before we decided to drop in on a weekday evening and try their burritos. We come from California, so we have a lot of experience of Mexican food. I'd say this was decent, without being what I'd expect to get in a Californian Mexican restaurant where Mexicans run the place and make the food. But there was nothing bad about it, just different. These aren't the sort of burritos you can eat our of your hands, and that's no terrible thing. I opened mine up after a while and dug out the innards. If you are looking for a standard chicken burrito with rice, beans, salsa, guacamole, sour cream and cheese... well that's not what they do. But if you are OK with a slightly different take on Mexican shaped food then you will probably like this. If I was taking a western states friend out for Mexican food I wouldn't go here though.

My family visited Guac-n-Roll 3 years ago and loved it. It was the one restaurant we knew we would return to on our trip to York...the minute we stepped foot in there we were disapointed because they had completely revamped it (possibly changed location next door?) it didnât have the warm welcoming vibe it used to. The service was slow and the food was bland. Completely different experience from our first visit. We all agreed we wouldnât go back.
