Reviews on Southwestern food in Lubbock, Texas, United States. The legacy of Buddy Holly lives on in his birthplace of Lubbock, where a museum, a walk of fame and an annual music festival honor musicians hailing from the area. Its museums shed light on the agricultural and military history of the region. Lubbock's many parks, golf courses and wineries provide a relaxing break from it all. Add to all of this a hopping nightlife and Lubbock truly is the "Hub City" of activity in the South Plains area.

Picoso's Mexican Kitchen provides fresh and authentic Mexican Cuisine along with Live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the Lubbock, TX area.
The service and food were excellent. Prices were great and there are a variety of choices on the lunch and dinner menu. This is a beautiful restaurant. We were seated quickly and efficiently and the service was fast and friendly. The manager came by the table to ask if everything was to our satisfaction. I expected the prices to be higher and was very pleasantly surprised that they were lower than expected. I love the fact that they have a drive-thru window for carryout.

Good Tex-Mex food, the kind we like. We frequent this restaurant fairly often...weekly. It has become our go-to mexican food restaurant. Food is good, Happy Hour Margaritas are good and priced right, service can be a little slow at times but otherwise good. Try it out!

This little restaurant has excellent Tex-Mex food. The restaurant is always clean and the food is fresh and the best in Lubbock! The only drawback is it is very tiny with minimal seating. I believe the restaurant only has a total of nine or 10 tables but it is worth the wait!

Wow - hidden gem in Lubbock!! a little different style than most lubbock restaurants - a bit more upscale and modern. Service was wonderful - all staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Salsa is a smokier variety but not too spicy. They also have a spicy salsa - both are delicious. Definitely get the top shelf guacamole! Big portions and plenty to share. I had the fish tacos and definitely recommend them.

In town on business and stopped by for a bite to eat. The atmosphere is inviting and lively. The service is fast and friendly and the food is great. Tonight I ordered the True Bleu and it is the most amazing sandwich. April at the bar is delightful and attentive.

Stopped in for dinner several minutes before they were supposed to reopen for the evening crowd. No problem! We were welcomed like family. I was hard to choose from all the delicious menu items. The gal talked me into have some of their self-serve free pork rinds. I had sliced brisket, pulled pork, fried corn on the cob, green beans, potato salad, and cornbread. My wife had the chicken fried steak. Mine was wonderful. My wife wasn't crazy about hers. I told her they are BBQ experts. We shared a pecan cobbler ala mode. I only wish I lived nearby so I could come back for their ribs and other great looking sides.

Some places just do food right. This is one of them. Nothing fancy, just good, hot, fresh food, and super nice service. Family crowd. Yum!

Real Mexican food is a feast for the senses. From colorful peppers to the sounds of sizzling fajitas all the way to that incredible flavor. Each mouthful is just as much a result of the freshest ingredients as it is a result of the chef's expertise. Abuel
For many years this was my favorite place to go for Mexican food in Lubbock. I can no longer say the same. While the place is still lovely and the service is excellent, the quality of the food has gone way down. On our last visit my husband ordered chili rellenos. By the time he finished, his food was sitting in a pool of grease that had leaked out of the food. I ordered shredded beef enchiladas and there was so much fat in the meat that it was disgusting. We didn't bother getting a carryout for our leftovers and it will be a long time before we give Abuelo's another chance. This has been a real disappointment to me.

The best dining in Lubbock, Texas is at The Pecan Grill At The Overton: Premier In-House Restaurant at the Overton Hotel & Conference Center. You really will find the best dining in Lubbock at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center. Hearty breakfasts, in
Chicken fried steak for dinner and BLT via room service for lunch. Both were great. Reasonable prices for a hotel and above-average quality. Simona S. brought my room service and was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for your review! I'm so glad you enjoyed your meals with us and I hope you'll be back soon.
