Nancy and I are on a Beer Run and now on our way home from Kalamazoo. We decided Ft. Wayne would be a good stop for lunch and a brew or two. A little Google search provided us with a couple of stops. The Hoppy Gnome was the first on the short list, and it was an excellent choice. We bellied up to the bar as we typically do. It was lunch time and the place was busy. We ordered a couple of really good IPAs and some food. I had a cup of Chicken Posole and a Wild Mushroom Torta (sandwich), the Posole was simply wonderful and the sandwich was good, too. Nancy got three tacos with bib lettuce instead of taco shells. One was a Duck Confit, one fish and one with Korean Short Rib. She devoured them. Good brews, good food, good service. An excellent experience. Thanks so much for visiting David! Cheers :)

FINALLY !I lived in Los Angeles, CA. for more than 20 years and I know Mexican Food. My wife and I were super disappointed when we couldnât find a good Mexican restaurant in Ft. Wayne. Donât even think about mentioning Cebollas, Dos Margaritas or Don Chavas. Either they are tired of making authentic Mexican cuisine or they canât afford quality ingredients.Salsa Grill is superb. Fresh Corn Tortillas made to order. Carnitas, Carne Asada, Barbacoa, you name it. These guys got it right. Absolutely delicious and a plethora of sauces to go on your Tacos. They also have Burritos, Black or Pinto Beans. Freshly chopped Cilantro and other condiments. Hands down...Best in Indiana! Very fair prices and a good seating area. Place is clean and has employees that actually care about the customers and it shows. Super happy that they have opened here in the Fort.

Always good! Not authentic, but delicious. This is my go to for chimichangas and burritos. I prefer the sabrosa for both burritos and chimichangas. Sabrosa is seasoned shredded beef. The chimichanga comes with cheese sauce. I am usually not a fan of this, but Don Chava's version is tasty, but if I remember I request it to be left off. ( The burrito sabrosa comes with a tomato based sauce, and actually makes the burrito). Today I decided on the chimichanga. The chimichanga comes with pico, guacamole, lettuce, rice, and charro beans. I request refried beans, since I prefer them. Our food came out quickly which is nice, especially at lunch. Server was helpful, refilled drinks, offered boxes, and brought the bill quickly. That being said we did not feel rushed at all. Server even offered refills after the check, as we were still chatting. The soda here is always good, and the chips and salsa are perfect. Don Chava's has other sister restaurants, and the chips and salsa are not as good at those late locations. The bar here is consistently good too.
