This is a Mexican restaurant that has been around forever but we simply never visited until now. Now we regret time lost and are trying to make up for it by visiting on any excuse. They have fun t-shirts for sale at check-in, and the dining area has a mixture of booths and tables. It welcomes George Mason U students, and the prices are extremely reasonable. The food is delicious, the service is super, you can easily spend a few hours here enjoying good company and good food.

This unassuming exterior hides a charming cozy place inside. The bartender is friendly and actually brings your drink himself along with noting any request he couldnt fill for "next time" - amazing! The service is warm and prompt. And the food is excellent! The complimentary chips and salsa are not an overwhelmingly big basket but just enough till the entree shows up. The Sedona salad was fresh and piquant and the churros were warm little logs with the most amazing dipping sauces! Speaking of sauces, they make their own house made chipotle sauce which we ended up buying a bottle fo to take home - it was that good! The chipotle had heat but not the kind that takes the roof off your mouth. The entire experience was pleasant and warm, the service was just impeccable, with gentle suggestions and prompts. And the prices are so reasonable you feel like slapping your head and thinking why was I not here before? Loved it and will be back!

Uncle Julio's Rio Grande Cafe

We had a group of 9 family, including 3 young children. Our server was very patient and good humored with all of distractions and indecisiveness. We all really enjoyed our food. The tacos, enchiladas, fajitas and sides were all hot and fresh. Nobody tried to rush us and we all had a great time. The adults had margaritas of various flavors. I still like the traditional and mine was delicious. I would have had more than one but...driving. This restaurant at Fairfax Corner is well located in a family-friendly shopping center with a movie theater and a “town center” area where the kids could run around.

The carry out section of the restaurant has a number of items but it specializes in burritos or so it seems. They have about two dozen specialities. I have tried about 25% of them. Each is fabulous. They are prepared as you wait so they are fresh. By the time you get home the favors have blended. One bite and you begin an eating frenzy. They are that good.

Good Mexican food

...sure, the Tres Leches cake portions don't look too appealing in the tin foil but they are just the best! - moist, not toooooo sweet, fresh, just....great. For sure, I could not stop at one but pigged out...Apart from the Tres Leches, the restaurant offers pretty decent TexMex food in good quality. Service is friendly. Prices great.
