We had a table outside on the terrace which is a lovely setting overlooking the central square. Attentive service and very tasty pupupas. The cost for two people - we had two pupupas each and 3 beers and it was $8.50 - $1 each for a pupupas! We had also been reassured that the cabbage was disinfected so perfectly safe for us to eat.

This restaurant was part of a variety food court (Turicentro) at Puerto San Juan on Lake Suchitlan. There about 6 restaurants with staff in traditional dress greeting patrons with a smile making it difficult to choose which restaurant is the best. I enjoyed a nice lunch before taking a boat ride on Lake Suchitlan from Puerto San Juan. You can choose from meat, chicken or fish. This is quite the Salvadorean experience I highly recommend as part of the #3 site in El Salvador, Suchitoto. Happy Travels!!!!

Yummmm! Went here on a whim and had the most awesome meal. The jalapeno pupusa still makes my mouth water. Lovely interior, across from the park where our daughter played and delightful service. If you are in Suchitoto you should definitely have at least one dinner here. Maybe two.

Originally decorated restaurant down some stairs from a quiet little park, open until 9pm in the evening. Meat dishes were really nice. The only problem - seasonal or just bad luck? - were the amount of insects bothering us while having dinner. Credit cards are accepted.

La Fonda EL Mirador

Three of us had lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon after a visit to Suchitoto and a boat ride on the lake. The food was delicious, the views excellent and the service very good (only one other couple at another table.) I ordered the arrayan drink without knowing what it was & it was heavenly! The waitress kindly brought one out so I could see it - a kind of guava. I'd definitely recommend La Fonda El Mirador.

Situated overlooking the lake in the distance (during the day). Good varied menu of meats, seafood, Italian and burgers. We had the great double burgers, which came with an excellent balsamic and chilli side sauce. Reasonable quality wine at $3.50 per glass. Pretty good service. Overall very good.

La Lupita del Portal

Reviewed By bucksbee

I ate twice at La Lupita in Suchitoto, during a tour of Central America, and had really enjoyable meals both times. The first was a light lunch of sausages with tortillas and salsa, with mint lemonade to drink, which hit the spot perfectly. In the evening, I had intended to have dinner at the upmarket Los Almendros, but found the restaurant empty and with no kitchen activity evident, so went back to La Lupita instead, where the atmosphere - on the edge of the town square - was much livelier and full of local character. Had another thoroughly enjoyable meal, of churrasco (steak) with several bottles of Salvadorean 'Irish stout'. The service was really friendly, and not as slow as some other reviewers have found. Thoroughly recommended!
