Find out what South American restaurants to try in San Ignacio. It’s true: parts of Belize are getting touristy. But San Ignacio remains rustic, making it a great base for budget-friendly tropical adventure travel. Canoe on the Macal River, or walk to Mayan ruins at Cahal Pec (just be warned: it's uphill).

We were staying at the hotel so we had breakfast here 3 times plus one lunch and one afternoon snack. They have long hours which was convenient. Breakfast was inexpensive and you can have Belizian, American, or British. It was really good and a great value, but Iâm rating 4 stars as there is better food and better atmosphere in town. I especially liked the bacon and the star fruit pie.

Rumors Restaurant is situated within Rumors Resort. We have recently opened our doors full time to the general public (both local and international customers). We server local and international cuisine and are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I was feeling a bit ill when we stopped for lunch at Rumors so I asked if they could make chicken soup. It was a long time in coming but WOW!! it was FANTASTIC. Much better than expected and maybe the best chicken soup I ever had anywhere, It contained scads of fresh vegetables and a huge hunk of chicken in delicious broth. My husband had a chicken plate and it was also excellent. Someone at a nearby table also offered us a piece of pizza, and it too was supurb. Most of the places I ate in Belize were so so; this place was a real standout.

Stopped here after checking out a few other local spots and Mom's seemed to give more wings for the money. The waitress moved very slow and seemed like to she did not want to be there. Asked if they had internet, the waitress said yes and then walked away without providing the wifi info. The food took a while to be served but the wings with the barbecue sauce were very good. My friend ordered a Belikin off the menu and the waitress made sure she verbally added that the price went up 50 cents. Overall, we would eat stop here again for the wings but the service could definitely be improved upon.

The Orange Gallery is located at Mile 60 on the George Price Highway (formerly called the Western Highway). The Orange Gallery is a combination of: the Gift Shop/Art Gallery highlights Belizean paintings, wooden artwork, and jewellery, along with art and
Nice little spot behind Orange Gallery right on the highway. Outdoor, covered dining area with plenty of room for families and groups. Nice variety of tasty local and international food. Before or after dining you can shop at the gift shop. There's a hotel but apparently there are only two room.Thank you for taking the time to write a review! I know how much I rely on other travelers reviews when I travel...With only 4 rooms, our hotel is tiny and, as such, fills up fast. That said, it's my hope you'll stay with us next time you're in Western Belize. Our early morning bird activity is amazing (and so is our coffee!).

Awesome food with a nice Mexican fuzz to it. The best jalapeño poppers (stuffed jalapeños) I've ever had. Friendly staff and owner who checks on customers. A good view of the town and on clear days you can see villages 10 miles away.

When it comes to Mickey's price is secondary only to the quality of food. Yes it's inexpensive, but the food is some of the best I've had.

We had such a good lunch here last time that we returned on this trip to Jalapenos. We had the wings and pibil tacos - both of which we would recommend. The server has the most beautiful smile and she is so pleasant and patient with questions.

DâSky Bistro by Chef Ennel is on a hilltop with a spectacular view of San Ignacio and the Maya Mountains. We offer our patrons an Experience in addition to excellent cuisine.
We had the upstairs patio to ourselves. We had Bruschetta and a few pastas. It was all great. The service was excellent. Very reasonable prices, nice view and very nice owners. Be sure to give it a try!

Our beautiful and cozy little restaurant overlooks the main center of San Ignacio town. We offer local (traditional and contemporary Belizean) cuisines. We are the only restaurant in San Ignacio that offers a full local menu.
Maybe other reviews set expectations too high. The space was on the second floor. There was no air flow and it was quite warm. As for the food, we were underwhelmed. There was no Ivy (mentioned in other reviews) when we visited. Two nice young men were running the place. The food just wasnât that good this night. I had the jerk chicken burrito which just wasnât quite right. My son had a similar experience with his fish tacos which lacked flavor. This is unfortunate but perhaps it was an off night. Weâve had good meals in San Ignacio and there is no lack of food in this area. We were disappointed to have wasted an opportunity to eat well this night.I am sorry you had a bad experience at our restaurant. The cooks that are there were trained by myself, Ivy and using my recipes. I am on maternity leave at the moment but will be back next week, the 1st week of June.I will be back soon with more of my flavorful traditional menus. Thank you for sharing your helpful feedback and I hope that you would give Authentic Flavors a second try if you return to San Ignacio.Regards,Ivy
