The staff are friendly, the ceviche is delicious and the full bar can't be beat. As the place falls apart - the view of the ocean is incredible. Our kids (two girls) found stuff on the menu they liked, we had the ceviche, the guac and chips and a few drinks. Bring cash - no cc accepted - prices are reasonable and the view can't be beat!

Our family of six had a fun time finding this place, and were glad we did. It's a great place to relax by the beach, have some tropical drinks and good food. We stayed around to watch the sun set on a huge rock between two islands off shore. The team of servers was very attentive. Our only complaint would be the constant battle to keep pesky flies off of our drinks and food.Hello Birdguy: Thank you for your review and for your business! Glad you enjoyed the food and drinks. I wish that we had a better solution for the flies. They come on occasion and cover the entire region--generally when the winds are pushing out from the farmland over the ocean. It is pretty tough to keep them at bay. In any case, thanks again for your business and please come back again soon!

We are from the Bay Area Bay near San Francisco. We decided to stay in Las Catalinas for Spring Break this year per recommendation from a friend. We decided to go for a nice meal out one of the nights at the newly opened Ponciana in the Hotel Santorena in the town of Las Catalinas, Costa Rica. I canât speak highly enough of the amazing flavors and textures in this meal. Itâs is difficult to find this quality of local ingredients and complex flavor combinations while sitting on the beach in a small town in Costa Rica. This is a first-class experience from the service to the menu. If you have the opportunity to experience this restaurant, you absolutely must try it. Off beaten path in playa brasilito. A small fantastic restaurant right on the beach. Very inviting and welcoming staffs and food is just tasty! Watch sunset and eat nice hearty meals and chatting away with a chef and staffs. You just wanna go back and hang out with them again and again. Really nice vibe and local environment. Steaks and appetizers r awesome.Family,couple or Solo... perfect chilling place

Owned by a Canadian ex-pat, we came here to get poutine, and we weren't disappointed at all, quite the opposite. I actually had Chifrijo, which was really good 'cept chicken was a little bit dry, and the poutine with bacon was really delicious! The fries were crispy, done just right, the gravy good, could have benefited from a bit more cheese though. Service was excellent, very friendly, and we had a nice chat with the owner from Windsor, helped by his daughters and a congenial waiter. It is located somewhat oddly, on the second story of a modern commercial building close to our condo at Casa del Sol, with one of those curious little Italian ex-pat developments behind, and the road, then the beach beyond. So, we had a nice view of the sunset, thru the power lines but still nice, as we ate. I would return here to try more of the local food especially.

We had been out fishing that morning and Pleamar was located on the beach close to the marina. There isn't much to the place... the building with the bar and kitchen, some tables with palapas and the great view. We ordered some Casado con piscado and pollo and it was delicious. A few Pilsen cervesas to wash it down while you're looking out at the water and boats bobbing up & down and you have a great lunch spot. Thanks for lunch, Pleamar!
