We recently stayed at The Andaz Papagayo - we ate at all of their restaurants - Rio Bhongo is their all-purpose and most casual restaurant and the only one which serves breakfast. Breakfast is very expensive here, so if you can get breakfast included with your room that would be a good option. The white-face monkeys are hanging around here and looking for some goodies - and they provide lots of entertainment for the guests and headaches for the staff (they will steal your food if you leave your table unattended). Service was good.

This was the last dinner we had while in Costa Rica and it was easily the best. Everything is amazing. The food, service and location. This was perfect. The ceviche was amazing (we even ordered another serving as our dessert). The prices are very reasonable as wellHighly recommend!

Father Rooster is the premier beachfront bar & restaurant on the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The location and scenery combined with top quality (yet very simple) food and our famous frozen drinks makes Father Rooster a must see on your next visi
Our family of six had a fun time finding this place, and were glad we did. It's a great place to relax by the beach, have some tropical drinks and good food. We stayed around to watch the sun set on a huge rock between two islands off shore. The team of servers was very attentive. Our only complaint would be the constant battle to keep pesky flies off of our drinks and food.Hello Birdguy: Thank you for your review and for your business! I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. I have watched many sunsets between the mountain and island in front of Father Rooster. It is quite a display. Glad you enjoyed the food and drinks. I wish that we had a better solution for the flies. They come on occasion and cover the entire region--generally when the winds are pushing out from the farmland over the ocean. It is pretty tough to keep them at bay. In any case, thanks again for your business and please come back again soon!

My wife, daughter and I had lunch here with Costa Rican friends after stumbling across this restaurant on our way back from the beach. What a great discovery off the beaten path! It's an open air restaurant just off the ocean with traditional Costa Rican food. We received outstanding service from a charming lady who is the sister of the chef. My wife and daughter have Gluten allergies and the chef made sure to prepare their meals separately (chicken dishes). I had the traditional Casado dish with pollo (chicken) and it was delicious! Also be sure to ask for the house chili (la chilera de casa) and try a little bit as it is delicious but quite spicy (our Costa Rican friends knew to ask for this).

Stopped in and eat outside late afternoon early evening and enjoyed the resorts lovely beach scene. Pool is to the side and does not distract from the view. Ate simple fish tacos and had a beer. Nice way to close down another day in paradise.
A palette of flavors for your palate: Just like a painting comes to life when itâs created with the perfect combination of colors, youâll find every dish is cooked with the ideal mixture of condiments and creativity.
Friday and Saturday nights this place is really alive. Great atmosphere interesting and unique food and all the jungle sounds around you. Shared meal with a great couple from Phoenix Arizona Who we met at the hotel and also did a tour with. Very relaxing with the live music. Highly recommend

Really liked this place. A lot of thought has gone into the design to get US sports bar meets beach bar meets upmarket marina into a coherent package. The food, drinks, presentation and setting are all great. The staff are very laid back and less effusive than anywhere else we went in CR. But it's very welcoming and relaxed. We were staying at the 4S. It's a 15 min drive. There is nothing you couldn't get by going to Bahia at the hotel but I much preferred the setting and the food quality, all at 35% off the 4S prices. No reservations, but no problem getting a table in August.
